I am a huge Nair fan but I've accepted that they're over on the show. However, why would they put Chair on the covers of the books? They were never a couple in the books. There's only one Nair cover, even though they're on-and-off in the entire series! Same goes for the Nate and Vanessa cover; I don't think they really even talked to each other in the series, other than Vanessa interviewing him for her film. These covers inaccurately reflect the books.
They really shouldn't put Chair on the book covers. It contradicts the whole series. Chuck is a flamboyant bisexual with a monkey. Blair is in a sense with Nate the whole time.

I hope Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage at least give them a chance! It kind of sounds like Savage thinks there's only Chair fans out there...that's only because they're more vocal. I love Nair!

First, it wasn't Nate and Blair.
Second, she's 15 and he's 23. If they continued an on-screen relationship, then they'd get more serious. And because it's Gossip Girl, there'd be sex. And THAT would be just gross.
Blair and Nate don't have any of that grossness :)
BTW, I love these promos! These are so much better than the regular ones. Ment-whore is my favorite! I need to watch these again...I missed a bunch of details, like Carter!

I don't think the Van der Woodsens' father has ever been mentioned. In the books, he and Lily were still married, so he's either dead or who knows what. About Blair and Jack, it's kind of weird. They make a big secret about them and before anything gets revealed, he's shipped back to Austrailia.

I totally agree with you. When Nate cheated on Blair, well that was now years ago. He's definitely matured, and as you said, he has now been in a stable relationship.
Also, Nate and Blair's relationship wasn't always one-sided. After Hi Society, they were starting to be that perfect couple. Nate had finally realized that he loves Blair, and Blair has loved him forever. They could have become a great couple, but just when things were getting good between them, Chuck had to contact Gossip Girl.

But, wouldn't you call them a couple when Chuck had his father's will read? She got him down from a building and I think that signified their 'togetherness'. But during the brunch, she walks in on him with half naked women. That's when they "broke up". So no, they weren't really just friends with benefits because they're relationship was important for both of them.
Everyone says that Nate cheated on Blair so they aren't a good couple. Blair slept with Chuck shortly after she and Nate broke up. Sure, it's not cheating, technically. But wouldn't you be mad if your girlfriend slept with your best friend right after your break up? I say they're even now.
Nate and Blair belong together. I loved them in the books and the show can't stray too far from the main storylines in the series.
