Woah - It was such an emotionally exhausting episode since the "Symphony of Illumination" in last season. Although somehow this episode had a therapeutic effect on me.
If they ended the season with Mother Cliffhanger, i am so going to be distracted through out the summer!
Agree with Jarrod Mitchell .. When it comes to Shondaland, expect the unexpected. Last year, Lexie was not even in my list of probable deaths.. i was confuded between Webber and Kepner.. and boom went the staple characters like Lexie and Mark.. May be Sofia and Zola got kidnapped and a detective to find them?
Well everything cannot be according to Owen. This is what he does, he messes up the entire situation and then yell then cry and then yell some more! He did the same with Teddy Cristina Triangle thing, then again during Cristina's abortion conflict and now he is on to this again - Bailey please slap him!
I am expecting this episode to step up the game again for Grey's! The latest episode was a filler at its best without any new development. It would be intriguing yet heartbreaking to see Mer face a Lexie-esque accident. I believe i have to hoard some kleenex till 8 Nov!
Am i watching the same HIMYM as you are? Because i loved this episode! It was old school HIMYM - Barney's overly sexualized nursery rhymes, Robin in leather suite, the Broller and that ringtone? HIMYM brought it for me.
And in a very longtime, the episode focused on all 5 friends in one single storyline...
Being a Grey's fan, I used to watch PP just because of Addison but seriously this season Private Practice has stepped up! I loved loved loved this episode! The last scene was heart breaking with Violet talking about Lucas accepting the fact his father would never comeback. Needless to say, cast is doing amazing, hope they use Amelia in a better way through the season.
New Castings? Great! When are they getting killed in a crash, getting cancer, thrown in front of the bus or sent to some other hospital? :P
Where as older cast members coming back, No chance for Burke anyway! ABC went through a lot of drama and network has a lot of say in who to bring back!
Izzie - now that Lexie's gone, show needs a little Bright and Shiny factor (No! April is too annoying to be Bright and Shiny) - besides that Alex NEEDS a proper girlfriend, no that weep Morgan intern! Shonda and HGeigl should talk their issues out and put the shows original cast on (as much as they can - No George though :/ )
This Finale was most certainly a roller coaster ride! it made me excited, swoon with joy, moan with anger and then made my jaw drop! that's what a great season finale is all about!
I don't think Victoria is dead... too early for her to exit! She will make a grand entrance next season.. meanwhile Emily's real mommy is a mystery! Who will they cast to play her!! My vote's for Michelle Pfeiffer!
Til sept, I would try not to anything *revengy* :P
cont: I have started to think that being married to twisted sisters has turned Owen and Derek TWISTED BROTHERS by defualt by always ending up there for eachother :P
I say it every week and I will say it again: Give Sandra Oh her well-deserved Emmy already! Such solid acting that I am a guy and yet I feel for Cristina, not Owen - The part where he hysterically laughed and realized that she is the Intelligent Robot Cristina crying and wasting time over a "boy" glimpsed the REAL Scalpel-Hungry Cristina!
Crowen - After the abortion and the cheating, I feel that both of them need a break from eachother, but i don't see how any couple would overcome this big bulldozer of a damage.
Definitely the most integral part was Mer's call to Cristina - the realization from her patient's expectation for "Family to be around whther you ask or not" - and then Cristina showing up to study at Mer's - Priceless
Well, Sloan was good as chief - so was Lexie as a vessel of information broken by overload, would have been more fun to have both interact with MArk as chief.
I have started to think that being married to twisted sisters has turned Owen and Derek TWISTED BROTHERS by default :P They always end up being there for each other :P
this kinda shows Mer doesn't know about the whole cheating scenario! Maybe Cristina kept her to self after the big bomb dropped on her! I have not even a ounce of sympathy for Owen! I was a Crowen fan big time but now i think it's time Cristina channels back the old cristina who stands for herself and find someone else who lets her live her life without trying to tame her... Avery might be a good option :P
Go Mer! Loved the way she told Derek , "If you Cheat on me, I WILL KILL YOU!"
I am a huge Slexie shipper ... but it's about time they get a definite direction... enough with the On again/Off again thing! and Please stop bombarding McSteamy with Children and Grandchildren!
I really feel bad for Cristina! Just because she is determined not to have a kid for her very valid reasons, she is subjected to such mental torture and pain from Owen... "i love you so much that it hurts?" Really Owen? then pushing all the pain on to Cristina -this ain't love! (Sandra Oh was awesome as usual! GIVE HER AN EMMY NOW!)
In lighter moments, Meredith's line: "She's going to fall for you, then go crazy, then pee on my couch." HILARIOUS! :D
Alex and intern Morgan - i don't know.. it doesn't seems natural.. Alex goes for Powerful feisty types - Izzie, Addison, Lucy ... and to be very honest, my mind cant picture Alex with anyone else but Izzie! may be this storyline is the reason Shonda indicated that KH might not return! I wish she does though..
Honestly speaking, as long as the remaining 3 of the original 5 interns.. Meredith, Alex and Cristina are there, I am all game for Grey's! Honestly the show took a lot of time to bring back the charm after Izzie's dismissal and George's death ... ABC better do all it can o bring these 3 back! Only other characters i care about other than these 3 are Derek and Lexie - them being directly related to Meredith GREY !
Please send Avery away! useless character only to drive wedge between Mark and Lexie!
and while we are talkin about hiring/firing characters, hire KH for Izzie as a guest star! pretty please!
FINALLY we know WHAT happened between the two twins that cause all the drama between them! although i would have preferred if they would have also told this story from the real Siobhan's perspective too that why she is so determined to blame Bridget for all that happened with Sean.
The Catherine Scam twist, honestly.. not that surprised! but yeah still in the dark about who did that to Tessa.
So Bridget will now come across with her real identity... oooh that will be a hard feat to pull off!
@Dexter Idolizer: agree with you on the point that Owen promised not to CHANGE cristina, but now he is asking her to change!
@aussie: Owen NEVER like Meredith, he made it very clear in season 7.. and i guess dislike is similar on the other end too.. Mer puts up with him only because of Cristina..
First things first, Is it just me or the desire to hit Owen Hunt with a bang on his head getting stronger for everyone episode after episode?
He KNEW all along Cristina is anything but mother material! she made it very clear that baby was never going to be on cards for her, and now he denies it! (kudos to writers on bringing up the icicle incident!)
Meredith and Callie ... hmm i get that they were never close may be earlier because of George and Mer thing along with the "Naked pee" incident and later because Izzie - whom Callie hated, was one of Mer's best friends; but i agree as a mentor Callie being a hardcore surgeon herself can also give Meredith the support she needs - although Meredith as a character doesn't go with Ortho, so she should stick either to General or back to neuro! (as Heigl is in talks to comeback, if Izzie comes back and finds Mer and Callie being the new duo of SGMW, boy would she be mad! -loads of "SERIOUSLY!!??" coming towards Mer! :P )
I liked this episode! definitely better than musical one! I loved the fact this episode told that no matter how different these people might have been in another life, they were destined to be the way they actually are , even if they are totally different persons! the last moments of the episode were like recoiling back to old school grey's! Meredith meeting Derek as a guy and a girl in a bar, Cristina and Mer taking tequila shots - all the odes to the actual Grey world!
The best part that i noticed, they used all the signature Grey songs! when "Into the Fire" played, it bring back memories of the good ole grey's times!
I know it's a drama and fiction and all... BUT I WANNA KICK OWEN'S ASS! first he puts Cristina through hell everytime, every step of the way and now he blames her! he knew what he was getting when he started a relationship with Cristina.. now he blames her for doing hat she wants for herself! I think Cristina should kick him out at the curb - Avery is single and so will be cristina - go Cravery!
apart from that Meredith's time-outing scene with the two sister patients was hilarious!
Yes Yes Yes! Finally!!! Bring back Isobel Izzie Stevens! Now as KH herself has said, BRING - HER - BACK!!! I seriously can't wait to see her back! SERIOUSLY! :D
I think this storyline would lead to return of Dr Andrew Perkins ... as i read somewhere during summer that season 7 finale wasn't the last we saw of him! Although, yeah there would be a definite rift between Owen and Teddy!
I dunno what other people felt about this episode , but this episode gave me a realization: Grey's Anatomy is really really not the Grey's I love without Meredith, Cristina or Lexie! Hell with that, I was even counting on getting some Calzona screen time (and I am the one who is not that Pro-Calzona screen time)
The episode wasn't totally bad.. I am liking Owen more and more since the season 8 premiere... and hating McAss Shepherd more and more - people who called mer whiny, get the taste of super moaning and cranky Derek!
@ Emy:
Chyler Leigh's reps announced that she took an extended leave from Shonda this summer for some more family time, she will be back from the next episode fulltime.. :)
Speaking for myself... Grey' Anatomy is actually about the 5 INTERNS (the actual M.A.G.I.C ... which is reduced to only M.A.C now :/) so until even one of them is on board.. i m going to watch!
That said, Ellen Pompeo is the star of the show.. I believe the show will lose its direction without her.. Lexie is a great character and Chyler does an awesome job playing it... but it would take a lot more than just a similar surname to run this show.. although not ruling out the possibility as i m a Lexie fan...( but with Mcsteamy please :P )
and if they make Callie the main thing again.. i swear i m gonna go bailey on these grey writers! We get that sad grown up attending Drama in Private Practice, Grey's is about the Life of residents! Even the guy , George, for whom callie was introduced at the first place is gone!
