(cont.)...Chin's situation is still heartbreaking. The ceremony at the beginning was beautiful, I wish they would have showed a little more, and Danny comforting Chin at the end was great. Both of them showed the emotions that you would expect. Both great actors.
As for Kamekona, isn't he suppose to be played as someone trying to get to the next big payoff. That is exactly what you would expect from him. I think that might even lead us to another appearance by Jimmy Buffett, which I would love. Next week looks good, but I'm sure all those are ready to rip that one apart as well.
I agree that the ease that Catherine had hacking into a computer was way too easy. A lot of WITSEC witnesses would be dead if it was that easy.
However, I liked this show very much. I agree the opener was better. Many people were complaining about the crime of the week. Well it was there and the core 4 handled it. Catherine out on her own was great, should have eased those that think she is going to interfere with 5-0. Her place right now is clearly helping Steve with figuring out Mama's moves. Loved the blue corvette, and getting info by using a little sex appeal is what you would expect from a crime show. (cont.)
CONTINUED>>>>> I thought DDK was excellent, he finally has a meaty part. I loved it when he shot Delano, although I'm sure there will be some payment for that. It was heart breaking to see him come home to find the chickens in the oven. Sorry Malia is gone, but it does give him a great story line. Not enough of Kono, although I loved it when she jumped on the car, and shot Toothpick through the windshield. I'm glad Adam was there to save her. Still like this relationship, although I'm sure there will be some complications. It's definitely more interesting then Kono/Fong.
I thought it was a great episode. I'll worry about the ratings once we have a few episodes in. I think it will pick up. I thought the helicopter bit was over the top, although I did laugh at it. I also laughed when I saw it in a Bond movie. I didn't care for the Boo Boo comment.
Catherine was great. I'm glad to see them show her as kick ass, for real, not just say it and not show it. I like Christine Lahti's portrayal of Doris. I think she played it just right. I'm not happy with Doris, I think she could have handled things better. Also, they had Steve say his father was looking for Doris' killer for 20 years which we knew before, but what I don't understand is why would she tell Joe White and not her husband. I like the what the character brings to the show, but right now not liking her much. I loved that Danny did not trust her. The cargument was good, but where does she come off telling Danny how to conduct relationships? I truly hope Wofat is not Steve's 1/2 brother, that would be over the top. They did not say that in the show, so I'm still hopeful, but Doris and Wofat not shooting each other means they have some sort of connection.
This episode was outstanding. I love Eric McCormack in this role, shows what a good actor he really is. I really can't say anything more than what others have said. This show is improving, and the writers totally fooled me. I liked that the murder probably through him into a psychotic break that lasted the weekend. But, that we learn at the end, that the murder really did happen. Very nice twists.
I agree with Suzanne's comment. Too many shows drag it out before they make the obvious solution as to if she is her mother. You take a DNA test, what else. If she refuses then you know its a lie. As for Hank not using gloves, as a nurse, I certainly noticed that also. Gloves are infection control for both. The hand washing thing would be boring to watch, we have to assume that he has. As many times as a doctor or nurse has to wash their hands, it would not leave much time for the story. I did like that Hank left his medical bag for the kid, it was a great moment. I do understand the comment that he had nothing to help the patient he was dealing with, unless we are to assume he took the supplies needed. Lots of holes, but its not real life. I agree not the best writing this season, although, I don't think its been as bad some say. I'm still watching.
I thought this was an incredible episode. As I was watching it, I was thinking of what I would say here. But, you said most of it already. I agree with your review totatlly, I loved Sanchez in this, and also loved that they are showing Provenza dealing with not being the top person. No matter what the character or actress of Raydor does, you are always going to have people who are going to be critics and not give the character a chance, I call it the Brenda syndrome, and they can't get over it. I loved Brenda and she made the show, but its time to move on. These characters are changing and adjusting to a new leader, as is expected. I love that Rusty is becoming more understanding, as he sees what Sharon has to go through.
The red folder that was handed to Rusty, that they were going to go over at dinner. Could that be a petition for adoption?
Does anyone have any other ideas? Great episode.
Jen....I don't recall telling you how to feel. My point was, (and by the way I did not point anybody out) all the questions aren't answered yet, thats the point. People are complaining because they don't know one thing or the other. We all have questions, they aren't going to answer them in a promo. Thats the whole idea of a cliff hanger. Unless they published the script and I missed it, how does anyone know? Give them a chance to answer the questions, then complain. I guarantee all the answers won't be in the first episode either. There have comments by others that have said season 3 will be just as bad as season 2. How do they know? I don't believe in crystal balls.
I liked the episode. I like Divya and Rafa. A character needs to grow and change. Is anyone really the same all their life? I think that would be boring. I like Hank and Harper as well, Jill is gone, get over it. The connection between Paige and Fiona was a great thing. I too loved that the mother/daughter was more to real life, and well acted by both. I thought this was one of the better episodes.
I was surprised by the biological mother showing up so soon, but it was spread over the entire country because of the campaign. She could probably put 2 and 2 together. Is she there for money? Who knows how they will play this.
I enjoyed this show. I agree that the Closer was better, and Kyra Sedgewick was the main reason. But, this show is making its way. It can't be the exact same. I think Capt. Ryder is what she should be. Some people don't like that she does not show the different expressions that the Brenda character did, but its not the same character. People need to get over that.
I have to admit, I did not like Rusty, but he seems to be showing a little more humanity. Afterall, anyone who has raised a teenager knows its no picnic, and Rusty did not have a stable up bringing, so I'll give him a break. I love Michael Weatherly, I watch NCIS as well, he plays his characters perfectly. It was humorous and we need to see that once in a while. I'm still watching.
How can you tell from one line in the promo that the whole story was told. This is going to go on for a while, we aren't going to get all the answers at once. Of course she is going to say she did it to protect her family, as did John McGarrett, no shock there. Mama McG's choice probably does not make sense to us in the real world, but this is a TV program. It's entertainment, you have the right to like it or not, but don't think that all choices in a TV show are going to make sense to you. If you are entertained is that not what you watch TV for? It's going to be a great season, for the millions of people who don't pick everything apart.
I can't wait, it has been so long. I'm very happy Christine Lahti was picked, I think she will be great. Looks like Wofat is already on the loose, interesting to see how he gets away from tracking down Mom McG. We did not see Kono, after her swim time, nor did we see Chin after finding Malia. I hope they don't give too much away. I really am excited about this year, it looks really good.
I thought this was one of the better episodes this season. I agree that the shows have been scattered. I do like the fact that they are putting Hank and the other doctor (forgot her name) together. I think this is a good match. Divya's story isn't over yet, next week should be interesting. I did think that Paige's shock could have been done better, although I loved the scene where she went into her room and looked at the portrait. That was a good moment for the actress. I'm still liking this show, although I think they did do better in the past.
I believe that Rusty was in foster homes before he ran away, and was not a teenager at the time he was left at the zoo by his mother.
I not thrilled with Sykes, but am willing to give the character a chance.
As I recall, Brenda was not liked by the team when she first came on. She had to win their trust. I think Sharon is a strong character, and should not be done like Brenda. That was a great character and I loved every minute of her, but this is a spin off, and changes have to occur. The Sharon character can't be the same, otherwise people will complain about that. I agree, just wait until the end of the first season. There is not a show I've EVER seen that did not take at least 1/2 a normal season (24 episodes) to catch on and develop. I'm still watching.
Great Summer ending. I agree with the other commenters, Sharon Gless is ablsolutely fabulous. The analogy of the broken bottles was great, and it totally threw me off of Card being the one who wants Michael dead. I was shocked, and pleased that they fooled me. I love this show, I'm sorry that we have to wait until November to find out how Michael and the gang deal with this.
I did not think of what Nisan thought of about Maddie, but I think Maddie figuring something out about Card would be great. I think this show is doing exactly what it should be doing, thats why I keep watching.
I agree with Martinelli. Malia was not dead yet in the finale, so they could have her die in the opener and have the ceremony as part of the next episode.
I don't see how you can say that season 2 is like season 3 when it hasn't even been shown as yet. How about seeing where they are going, then complain.
I did not see Pearce leaving coming. I hope that its only for a little while. I liked her with Jesse as well.
I think we will get more of Michael still having problems keeping it legal, otherwise it would just be too easy for anyone to get over that guilt, whether justified or not.
As for continuing to call it Burn Notice. I don't see any problem with that. All those that don't know the story aren't going to be watching anyway. If they do, then they can get the previous season through Netflix or buy the DVD set. They aren't going to change the name.
I loved this episode. I'm surprised they gave us the whole story, but I was glad that they did. This one had a lot of action in it, and having Travis and Wes decide that the therapy was actually helping, makes for some good stories next season. I'm hoping USA does give it another chance. I will be watching.
I've read other accounts that Catherine and Danny are not all that trusting of Mama McG. It will be interesting to see how she explains a 20 year absence. Whatever it is, its a great storyline.
I think its looking more and more like Malia is the one who dies. I was kind of hoping that maybe she would not, but I guess there won't be any miracles for Malia. This does give DDK some great chances to show off his acting talents. Which I'm very happy about. This season is looking great.
I thought this was a great episode. I loved that no one on either side of the religious issue changed anyone's mind. That is reality. As for Joan of Arc, I think these are great hallucinations, and yes, I do think its his own subconscious telling him what he already thinks.
Has this been done before? Of course, along with everything else in Hollywood, over and over. This is the first time I've seen an entire show on it though. That's not a reason to not like something because its been done before. If you did that with everything, then what joy would you get in life? I wish people would let that go. I'm still interested in this show, and I think Eric is doing a great job.
I loved this episode. I was glad that David was not the back stabber the writers let us to believe. However, he was a little foolish, but we all talk to our spouses about work stuff. No matter who you are or what position you are in. I'm glad Provenza was the one who pointed that out. I like Sanchez, but he is no angel, and he should be a man and realize that David was played. If Brenda could forgive, then so should Sanchez.
I agree that Brenda will always be haunted by not talking to her mother when she had the chance. We all have regrets when someone dies, whether we have done everything we could or not. The last scene was heartbreaking, and again fantasically played by a great actress. I will truly miss this show.
I like this show, and would watch a season 2. It's not the best, but its not the worst either. They do have some good actors on here. I'm hoping that it is re-newed, and that the writers give us a little more. I love the concept of cop partners having to go to therapy. I'm glad we find out why Wes and Travis we were sent to therapy in the finale. Hopefully, we get another season.
I'm glad that someone told Angela. Lydia's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she was right in telling Angela. I hope that we do find out soon who the father is. I'm sure this is not the end of Lydia. Didn't this actress play the, "I don't know who the father is" character on Friends? Talk about type casting.
I think Casey should appear soon also. And Maura's bio mother, has to come back at some point. I'm sure when Maura's sister gets really sick and is facing death, one or the other will contact Maura.
I hope they can continue, I don't think this show has lost anything. It's heading into another direction, but all shows have to, once they have been on so long. NCIS has been on almost twice as long and it does not seem to be slowing down.
I think they have a lot of places they could go. He finished with Anson, but since someone show both Anson and Nate, Anson might not have been the head person who burned Michael afterall. We need to find out who shot Nate and why, so I'm sure thats good for a few episodes.
Most people were thinking it was Rebecca, and I went along as well, but I had said that I hope they would not be that obvious. I'm glad the writers did not disappoint. I agree Rebecca will be back. Pearce should have been at the service. I'm glad we see Sam's girlfriend finally, she should make it interesting. I wonder if the spoiled rich kid gets in trouble again.
