heroes sucks even more
meh... Sylar has a funny face. Not much for eye candy if you ask me.
But the plot holes do serve one good purpose. They give the fans something to come together and discuss. They provide opportunity for graphic novels and comics, and maybe books and such to be produced long after the show finishes, and numerous fan fics. And they test our imagination. I love it.Posted 11/13/2009 9:01:33 AM #
Hurfdurf..I suggest you return seasons 1 - 4 and watch Dancing with the Stars.Posted 11/13/2009 12:35:24 PM #
Whatchootalkin' about, Ravenhill? There's eye candy galore! Sylar has that sexy bad boy appeal, and Milo V just makes me melt. And, have you seen Mohinder with his shirt off? HOT!Posted 11/13/2009 4:59:08 PM #
Oh I totally agree about Mohinder. But Sylar's face is weird. Milo is hot but he pulls weird faces. tbh I liked Nathan before he got a bit chubby round the cheeks. That man has let himself go.Posted 11/14/2009 4:26:27 AM #
I LOVE Sylar's "killer" eyebrows! Heh, heh, heh!Posted 11/16/2009 2:25:37 PM #
gotta agree with you -aheroeschick- there certainly is a draw to Psycho Sylar ;P . but back to the topic, I have to say I still enjoy the series still. I mean, I was a little disappointed with this seasons opener to tell you the truth but I actually kind of like Samuel now and this season's mind f@ck between sylar/ matt and now Nathan is kind of a cool draw in. I'm curious about where their taking it, if you aren't stop watching it. I have to agree there, I mean wow, who wastes their time searching fan sites to say:
'THIS ISH DA WRST SHOWA EVA!!!'
Tards.. I mean if you have something to contribute do it, but this is the internet people, stop wasting your time trying to change someone elses mind.Posted 11/17/2009 1:38:16 AM #
Sure, this is a fansite, but you fangirls should take your own advice and avoid reading if you can't take criticism of your precious show. The topic is 'heroes sucks even more'. Why not avoid clicking on it, or reading it, if it's such a problem for you? Anyway, some of you have a point that the criticism has been shallow, so far, so I guess I'll rip the show a new one, with specificity. [SEASON 3 SPOILER ALERT] 1) No discernable story arc Take season 3. The big bad was the US government, right? Or was it Sylar? Or was it Angela's sister? The writers had no idea, and neither did we. The season finale didn't even involve the government hunting plot, and we only find out in season 4 that the government just changed their minds about hunting the heroes. Angela's sister just comes out of nowhere, with no clues or hints, just another in a long stream of random events, and we don't care, because we have no reason to. We do get to see how the company started, but it was already basically explained, and seeing it happen is incredibly anticlimactic. 2) "You don't understand how complicated this is!" I dare you to play a drinking game where you take a shot every time a character says something like the above. Bennet is the worst offender, but almost every character has uttered a similar phrase at one point or another. The writers seem to use it as a crutch to avoid explaining anything, and to make the show seem more mysterious than it is. 3) Every season is hunt-the-heroes. I'm not caught up on season 4 yet, but I'm getting a little tired of the hunt-the-heroes plot. Is it too much to ask for the heroes to come together and start kicking ass? Does every season have to be hide and seek? 4) Ali Larter Ali's characters have resurrected so many times that Jesus is going to sue her for patent infringement. Please let her die. 5) Hiro is a clown Hiro was the best thing about Heroes, so the writers decided to utterly destroy his character. They took away his sword, his powers, and his badass attitude (earned from hard experience), and made him into a waffle-eating dufus who can't tie his own shoes. Let me get this straight... Hiro has just seen a video where his father tells him never to open the safe, or the world will end. Hiro opens the safe, and Daphne steals the formula. From a time traveler. You can't outrun a time traveler. I don't care how fast you are. So the only way the writers can dig themselves out of that hole is to say Hiro doesn't want to use his powers any more. WELL WHY DID HE OPEN THE SAFE? When Hiro finally does lose his powers, we think, fine! He wasn't using them anyway, no big loss. 6) Peter keeps getting nerfed The writers seemed to realize that Peter is too powerful, so first they gave him amnesia, and then they messed with his ability. So now no one is a match for Sylar. How convenient for them. 7) Bennet Angst Claire Bennet: I'm a freak! Noah Bennet: But you can't tell anybody! Claire Bennet: Why do I have to lie? I hate lying! Noah Bennet: It's for your own good! I'm just protecting this family. Claire Bennet: Maybe I don't want to be protected! Maybe I just want to be myself! Sandra Bennet: I'm tired of your lies Noah! Get out of the house! That's the Bennet dialogue for every Heroes episode since the beginning of time. Admit it, you know I'm right. I could go on, but I'm starting to get bored.Posted 11/17/2009 9:27:52 PM #
The fact that your still watching this show just to complain about it is ... well I think that has been touched on before so I'll move on.
Whats really boring is reading a huge block of text that goes down an entire page. Your eyes might be used to stare at screens by watching show's you don't like and going to fan sites of the shows you dislike so much.
But okay, I will give you one or two things. One: Too many characters are brought back (after death) and its sort of an annoying cop out.
Thats what I'll give you, and just because I've finished my homework today, I'll address your other 'problems' with the show.
1.) The 'plot' of season three was to give insight to the 'VILLANS' of the story. Check out the insightful title for proof.
and hmmm. Angela's sister was in episode ten '1961' which was in season four, at least wiki heroes or something to keep your stuff straight. and just so you know that episode was to add depth to Angela whom we all thought of as a B!tch the entire time. It was actually an interesting insight to her character (the socks thing was acutally mentioned in the first season) and the whole coming together of the company and its for-fathers/mothers.
2.) the 'crutch' of characters having repeat habits, or 'excuses'. well lets see you change your personality in say, about three episodes. Noah (though its irritating) has been lying to his family for years sorry if he can't change his personality and habits quick enough for you, but lets take this moment to remember something else here:
The 'plot' of heroes is 'normal' people with living with something extraordinary. whether that be knowing people with abilities, or being a person with abilities.
Sorry Hiro doesn't change from being a wussy into a hardass in a season, I know how disappointed you must be.
People don't change quickly, we are repetitive and we tend to make the same mistake twice and every character in heroes have their own character flaws like each and other person of the real world does.
3.) 'Is it too much to ask for the heroes to come together and start kicking ass?' You want them to start a league of heroes and wear tights too? Sounds awefully familiar, I mean wow go to the cartoon network if you want to watch people with chisled jaws who wear tights were every show ends with a happy ray of light and the bad guys behind bars.
They do come together to kick ass sometimes though, but you can't forget that these are really all random frickn people, the only ones that really know each other are the Petrelli and Bennett's and they've gathered forces to kick ass a'plenty. ex. Put Sylar into his place, Saved the cheerleader, Saved the future repeatedly. Kicked Nathan's/Danko's ass back into place when they tried gathering the 'specials'
4.) I'd be a little more leinient on this if you used Sylar as a ref. rather than ali. Ali Larter is a TRIPLET. Would you have felt better if they used mary-kate and Ashley instead? Would that be more likely to you? But no, I mentioned before bringing back characters so much cheap and kind of annoying.
5.) Hiro's 'hard expieriance' was caused by a future that didn't happen. Sorry 'bout that there. Hiro never experianced death like his future self did and the likely hood is that he won't, or if he does that brain tumor of his will probably kill him shortly after. get over the fact he's not badass, we haven't seen a 'badass' hero since season one, time to move on if you plan on watching the series still.
and hiro is childish, and thinks he's up for anything and also he was bored with his new 'office job' and convinced like we all were, that time travelling was infallable. and Hiro's stopping time is actually slowing time, which is why a speedster can move so fast that it doesn't effect her since she blows the speed of light.
I found it annoying too, whatever.
6.) okay, you complain when there is story line and you complain that their isn't I don't want to give a goddamned summerary okay? Peters powers were sapped by his dad, I don't care what you think that the writers thought while they were writing this shit up. You don't know the writers, you can't assume anything okay? One of the cool things about heroes is that you don't know whats coming around for the next episode, whether that is because the writers are actaully morons and are pulling everything out of their asses is your personal belief. Its not a viable argument.
7.) Claire is just one of the main characters ! or haven't you noticed? she's also a teenage girl, whose more fugged up than normal and is especially spoiled and has a reletively cushioned life. being a freak is hard to get over, like I said, if you want to see character 'progress' don't expect it over a few episodes.
and though the show centers a lot around Claire, she really only gets a certain amount of air time every episode just like every other character.
So there those are perfectly viable, show/fact based answers to your objections. I understand just fine that you dislike the show but please respectfully accept these alternative thoughts in the matter and we can agree to disagree. Since I've strained my vision reading your thoughts I hope you apprieciate me putting SPACES inbetween my 'WALLS OF TEXT' as so your eyes may relax.Posted 11/18/2009 1:31:00 AM #
Have any of you ever seen that old Saturday Night Live sketch where William Shatner tells a whole Star Trek convention to get a life?Posted 11/18/2009 4:00:04 AM #
