Samuel's Master Plan
-
What a wonderful topic to debate. I like everything I read in here. Here's a pertinent question. How long after someone or something dies can Peter bring them back to life with his new power? If he can bring back the long dead, he might be able to ressurect Joseph. In fact, I would not be surprised if that's how the story will develop, and how Peter will get his full power back, if in fact Joseph is an empath. If that happens, we might not even need HRG to start a force to oppose the Carnies. I'm sure once Joseph is alive again he will take a liking to Peter and Samuel will become jealous, splitting the Carny family in a civil war of super powers. Man, just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

Man I am so happy I started this thread...this thread is the shit ...Pyropuppy that would be fraeking awsome....I am so curious if the power Peter is holding could bring the dead back to life. I could totally understand Samuels feeling over losing Jeremy because who wouldnt want a healer on their team if a fight is about to happen. Peter might mean more now to Samuel then ever espacially with that Power. EVEN MORE UNDERSTANDABLE NOW WHY HE WANTS CLAIRE!!!!
Samuel must know that a war is coming...and His plan is to be ready for it with the right soldiers.

Samuel knows ... or Samuel is planning.
Pyropuppy: I'm not sure Peter's ability will enable him to raise people from the dead. The impressions I got from the scene when Jeremy shot Peter is that he had to heal him before he died. Otherwise, killing his parents would not have been a problem because he could have brought them back. My understanding of it was for the power to work, there has to be some life left in the subject.
That we can, and are having this kind of great discussion I think is a testament to how good this season has been. It's been a while since we have had a chat like this.

I can definitely see a scenario similar to 5 Years Gone happening, with Samuel and Sylar set in place as two very different main villians. Samuel will be set as the big, "boss" type of villian, like Linderman was in Season 1. Only, I think Samuel and his plan are much more interesting than Linderman and his plan was, even without knowing what his plan is yet. And Linderman was pretty interesting.
Meanwhile, Sylar will play his role in the Carnival well, and Samuel will find a way to put him in place as the President of the United States in time, as the Carnival's own personal pawn. And I think that rather than the future where people with power's are persecuted, imprisoned, and killed... It will lead up to a plan seeing this happen to the ordinary people who have mistreated them. This will lead HRG, Peter, Hiro and company to form a resistance. I doubt whether this would actually occur in the show's timeline; it'll probably just be Samuel's plan. Eventually, a scene would occur in which Nathan (Sylar) finally does reveal himself to the world as being... well... able to do extraordinary things (an event occuring in 5YG and foreshadowed at the end of season 2 before the real Nathan was shot.)
I also believe that Sylar will resurface as "Nathan" and will keep his true identity a secret from everybody in the cast. Matt (if he survives) will believe that Sylar is gone, and that Sylar truly has become Nathan, and Angela will believe the same... although she might be too smart for that. Maybe she'll die...
I also foresee: something will cause New York to be thrown into despair and possibly be destroyed almost entirely, just like 5YG; we're gonna see some bad ass Future Hiro (he isn't gonna die); Peter will, eventually, get back his original empathy power, as he was specifically referred to as an "empath" early this season; Sylar will, at some point, go after Hiro's power, though he'll obviously never get it; HRG is going to wind up dead in the distant future (I don't see it being soon, and they will build up his character and plot over time, making it a shocking, powerful death); I see it as a strong possibility that Sylar is going to kill Samuel in the distant future and take control of the carnival while he's also president. Samuel would in some way either feel remorse or be redeemed somehow. Sylar would become not only the most powerful of all the people with abilities and the President of the United States, but also as the virtual leader of all those with abilities. In the end, there will be a huge battle between Sylar and Peter and, like in 5YG, Peter will only just realize that as he confronts President "Petrelli." Sylar would go into one of his little speeches, part of it involving about how some things are fated to happen, and how even after Peter had tried so hard to stop it, Sylar still wound up President and New York was still destroyed. They then finally have the epic battle we've all wanted to see for 3 years now.

Wow Derek, sounds like you have the next two seasons figured out!
Two things about Samuel that make me feel his plan is to be the villain: 1. Lydia and Edgar his own "family" are afraid of him. 2. He doesn't hesitate to kill people without abilities. ie: a. Ernie Hudson's character the cop who was chasing Sylar. b. Anyone who was in the police station that he leveled in the last show. A cool scene, but a bit overkill to take out the two responsible individuals.
My opinion: Samuel = bad guy.
The other thing about his plan that I'm wondering about, is this magic list that of people that appears on Lydia's back. Magneto would be recruiting anyone with an ability that is vulnerable and easy to influence. But Samuel is following some sort of guidelines for selecting members based on what appears on lydia.
A resurrection is a good guess, but if I was going to ressurect someone I would think they would want to get their own revenge on their killer. So, since Danko is already dead, I doubt that's the case. There's definitely a puzzle that Samuel is trying to put together that will benefit him more than anyone else.
I like the Magneto vs. X-men analogy that someone mentioned previously (sorry it's on a different page so I can't see the name). HRG and Angela's company would be like the X-men focused on recruiting people and developing their powers, but keeping the "one of us one of them" mantra for stopping bad guys. The Carnival convincing people with a abilities to stick with their own kind, and try to take down the company. Peter, Hiro, and Micah's team (from the graphic novels) in the middle employing double agents to take down both the Carnival and the Company. Claire will probably get trained by her dad, and eventually take his place. Sylar, since he's not much of a team player, will probably just wander around collecting abilities, the other people will try to stop him but won't succeed. I could see Sylar becoming a dr. Manhattan type since he doesn't need empathy to gain his abilities, he could easily start losing touch with humanity altogether.
There's also this kid that just came around from the graphic novels that supposedly has the ability to make clones of himself like his dad, but this kids clones will all have abilities. If I was sylar I would be looking for this kid as an unlimited supply of people with abilities.
The possibilities are definitely exciting. Lots of different ways they can go from here. I just hope they don't disappoint.

Just noticed something Samuel said to Tracey. "when someone with abilities joins us I can feel our energy grow"
This could be nothing but could be a small piece to a puzzle that is way more mind blowing then taking over the country

Kal15: The kid with the healing/death dealing powers didn't have full control of his powers yet, so maybe Peter can develop them a bit more and be able to bring back long dead things. Just speculation, though.

Nah, I'm talking out of my a** :p And I think it would be awesome if those things actually happen, but knowing this show, nobody will be able to predict where this story is going XD Though I really do see a strong possibility of some of those plot elements because of the foreshadowing of them we've seen previously. But then, what do I know.
