Later in the episode, Mike squares up his debt to Jimmy by helping Jimmy with the Kettlemans, who've come to him asking him to represent them when Kim Wexler brokered a deal they just couldn't be okay with.

Kim begged and pleaded with the DA to get Craig Kettleman 16 months in county lockup for stealing $1.6 million dollars from the city. The stipulation is that he has to make the city whole again by returning the money. Betsy Kettleman insists they have no money to return because he's innocent. They fire Kim when she's unwilling to take their case to trial knowing they would lose and Craig would go away for 30 years.

Jimmy tries not to take the case. He tries to send the Kettlemans back to Kim because her deal is the best they're going to get. Betsy reminds him about the retainer and he's stuck figuring out how to get himself out of a jam.
