Recap

Kevin Corcoran is a detective for the New York police in 1864. He is assigned the case of a murder of a young girl, a girl who looks just like someone Corcoran met earlier on the streets of Five Points. It turns out that the girls are twins, orphaned on the streets. The little girl that was killed was murdered by a blow to the head from a cane. Corcoran deduces that the murderer is Winfred Haverford, an important man in NYC. Due to his status, Haverford gets away with his crime, for now.

Morehouse: Corcoran cut off my leg and saved my life.
Corcoran: Luck of the Irish.
Morehouse: Don't be so modest, Corky. He saved my life and got himself a detective's badge.

Look around you, Corky. Since the riots, my people have been moving out of Five Points. My wife, her brothers were hung by the neck from those two lampposts.
