- It opens with Mickey in bed, staring at the photo of the soldier from WWII who looks just like the EMT who handled his father.
- The man had the same blue butterfly on his arm, and Mickey realizes he made a breakthrough and that he remembers his father was still breathing, ergo he really is still alive.
- Shira works out and tries to clear her mind after she and Hannah made out the previous night. Shira keeps having flashbacks to the previous night and is getting flustered.
- Mickey reminds her of the pancake breakfast and notices that Shira is behaving strangely.
- Mickey shows the photo and explains everything to Ema and Spoon who don't believe it's possible.
- Mickey recalls that his father recognized the guy.
- Ema tells Mickey that he's just seeing what he wants to see, and Spoon reluctantly agrees.
- Mickey gets defensive and hates that they're treating him like they don't believe him. And Ema reminds him that they're not the bad guys. Bat Lady is who has been messing with his mind the whole time.
- They show him the footage of Rachel stealing things from Ashley's locker.
- Mickey decides that he alone will talk to Rachel, and Spoon tells Ema that she wasn't being very nice, and it doesn't matter if they believe him or not because they're all friends.
- Mickey confronts Rachel about clearing out Ashley's locker, and she initially denies it until he shows her the video footage, and then she warns him to drop everything even though she knows his coming from a good place.
- She tells him to meet her at her place later to talk about it.
- Rachel tries to make amends with Troy. She distracts him when a kiss when he starts to get jealous about her speaking to Mickey.
- Shira is awkward when she sees Hannah at the pancake dinner, and Hannah makes an announcement and encourages Shira to give a speech since she was the best point guard back in the day.
- Shira gives an awkward speech and has flashbacks to all her memories with Hannah.
- Flashbacks to a dance, Ken got wasted at the dance and was throwing up. Shira and Hannah were with him and then dance with one another for the last dance while Ken gets sick elsewhere.
- While dancing, the girls share a moment and nearly kiss, but they're interrupted by someone. They get out of there.
- Hannah runs after Shira after the speech to talk to her.
- Hannah asks Shira out later. She says the previous night was a one-and-done that she got out of her system. She just wants to be Shira's friend.
- Mickey asks Mrs. Friedman about the mysterious Nazi.
- She shows Mickey a picture of the real Butcher, and it's not the same person. She presses him on who gave him that photo, but he doesn't say.
- Ema runs the photo through a database of EMTs.
- Spoon is nervous because Buck's audition for the musical is amazing, and he doesn't feel like he can pull any of this off.
- His singing partner, Marissa, didn't make it. Ema begrudgingly joins him onstage to keep the duet going.
- Ema has a beautiful voice that gets everyone to shut up.
- Whitney tells Ema how beautiful her voice is and that she should never stop singing, and Spoon is grateful.
- Buck and Troy overhear them calling her Ema and tell the story of how they gave her the nickname in Spanish class because she was emo, and they gendered it; her name is really Emma.
- Whitney apologizes to Ema and gives her credit for reclaiming the name.
- Hannah and Shira have their ice cream, and Hannah tells Shira how she was mad at her for a while. And Shira said she missed her. Hannah said she wished that Shira told her she didn't want to be with her instead of fleeing across the country.
- Shira tells her that she left because all she wanted was to be with Hannah and didn't know what to do about it.
- Mickey reflects on Rachel's weird behavior around the topic of Ashley and is interrupted by Ema at his window dropping by to see him.
- Ema apologizes for being a jerk earlier. She says she's not used to having friends. They hug, and he apologizes too.
- She shows him that Bat Lady's photo was photoshopped, but the accident report shows that not one person who was recorded on the scene looks like that photo.
- He recalls the ambulance logo was different, and Ema sketches it for him. It also had a 75 on it.
- Ken shows up at Bat Lady's house. He sees the freshly buried dirt in the backyard and a shovel.
- Bat Lady startles him coming up behind him. He tells her that he got an anonymous tip about a body buried on the property.
- Bat Lady says the dirt pile in the backyard was a deer she buried, and he says he'll come back with a warrant if she doesn't let him verify that.
- Spoon hears dispatch on the police scanner saying that they found an abandoned car that's registered to Charlotte Kent, the wife of the man attacked, and the woman they thought was Ashley's mother.
- Ema and Mickey trace the logo to an EMT service. They call it and Mickey learns that the EMT service didn't have anyone at that accident or any accident that day because one of their ambulances was stolen that day.
- Sunglasses Man waits in the bushes with his gun as Ken digs up the deer. He apologizes, and she tells him to leave.
- Spoon calls Ema and wants her to come to their hub so he can tell her about Charlotte Kent going missing.
- Ema is on the call list and is playing the Phantom. Spoon is playing Raol, and Buck is playing Christine. They've genderswapped some of the roles.
- Buck isn't pleased and says he refuses to kiss either of them, and Ema says she doesn't want to do it.
- Whitney is excited about it, too, since she's doing makeup, and now Ema doesn't feel she can back out.
- Spoon notices Ema's crush and is smug about her caving.
- Spoon and Ema sneak into Dr. Kent's office.
- They find a file on Dylan Shakes and read that Dylan had abdominal bruising, signs of asphyxiation, and basically a bunch of evidence that implies that Dylan's father was physically abusing him for years, and no one in tow did anything about it.
- They see that Dr. Kent saw Dylan the day he went missing but didn't formally leave a summary.
- Bat Lady and Sunglasses Man corner Mrs. Friedman while she's walking her dog, and Bat Lady mentions that the police came to visit her and had they dug deeper, they would've found a body.
- Mrs. Friedman tells Bat Lady that she needs to stay away from Mickey, especially as he's still grieving his father.
- Bat Lady discusses how much she cared about Brad. Mrs. Friedman asked why Bat Lady photoshopped a picture of Luther on the Butcher photo, and she didn't answer.
- Bat Lady said Mr. V was trafficking girls and sold Ashley. She says she did the world a favor killing him.
- Mrs. Friedman says killing is still wrong, and Bat Lady is dismissive of her self-righteousness and brings up how she was with Dylan Shakes and that she's still carrying around that guilt for not doing anything.
- Bat Lady says that they were friends once, and that's why she'll give her a pass this time, but if she does something else again, she'll put Mrs. Friedman in the ground too.
- Mickey shows up at Rachel's place to talk about Ashley. Rachel says that Ashley came to cheer practice, but her moves were a bit risque, and the other girls started calling Ashley "slutty." and she didn't do anything about it. She followed after Ashley to apologize for not defending her when she saw two men try to put Ashley in a van. Rachel attacked one while Ashley kicked another, and they go to shoot them, but the henchman said they needed Ashley alive.
- Ashley won't tell Rachel who the men are and doesn't want to drag her into things, and she says the police are in on it all too.
- Ashely is afraid that they'll kill Rachel, and Ashley says that she has to get out of town. Rachel wants to help. She offers to get her out of town.
- Rachel tells Mickey that Ashley is there in the pool house.
- But right before she heads out, they hear noises. Their signals, lines, and power are cut, and they can't call 911.
- Luther is out there, and he's coming for Ashley. Mickey goes to run after him against Rachel's wishes.
