Matt is stunned to find Richie Fife. Richie says Arthur Conway is the one who brought Richie to Canada. Richie says Arthur rescued him. Arthur was his biological father. When his Mom got sick, she began bringing Richie to the airfield to spend time with Arthur.

At the airfield, Richie overheard the executives talking about using cadmium and planning to dump it outside of town. Arthur and Hank decided to come forward and say they'd overheard the executives talking to force Strata Tech to admit what they were doing, but the company came after them instead.

Arthur had one of the executives on tape admitting to dumping the cadmium. He was trying to find the dumpsite when someone sabotaged Hank's plane. That's when Arthur decided to leave Erie Harbor and take Richie with him.

Arthur paid to have Richie abducted, but Richie fought back, and a man died. Richie feels guilty and won't go back. Richie says he doesn't know where his father stashed the recording. He thinks it's somewhere in Erie Harbor, but he won't go back and risk losing his young son.

Bridget says that now that they know that Richie is alive, they could be accused of covering it up if they don't come forward. So Matt goes to Trip, Frank, and Kim.

Frank goes to Canada to see Richie and tries to convince him to come in on his own but finds that Richie has taken off with his son.

Matt remembers being on his Dad's boat the day Hank Gillis' plane crash and Arthur Conway was at the marina. Matt, Hilde, Donny, and Spoon all search the boat, but they don't find anything.

Hilde thinks maybe Sylvester found the tape and moved it. At the house, she finds Sylvester's hidden notebook but no tape. Sylvester was writing about Strata Tech and trying to piece together what was happening, but at some point, he got too sick to continue. Matt wishes he'd known because he could've helped his father.

Bridget finds that many people in Erie Harbor have the same symptoms, likely stemming from cadmium exposure, but are afraid to come forward. Izzy suggests having a town hall to explain the class action suit and hopefully get people involved.

While on the run, Richie's son, Tommy, finds an envelope that Arthur kept with all of Hilde's articles on the Richie Fife case. Richie reads them for the first time.

Strata Tech tries to shut down the town hall meeting. Most people don't show up because they feel their jobs are on the line. Bridget's car is spray-painted with the word "Traitor."

Before the Town Hall, Hilde can't find her notebook, so she brings Sylvester's instead. Barely anyone shows up for the town hall meeting, but Grant Williams, the CEO of Strata Tech, and his attorney and fixer are there.

Hilde stands up to speak. Grant belittles her and says they have no case. Then Sam comes in with Richie Fife, who decided to come forward after reading Hilde's articles. He had the tape all along. He plays it for everyone, and Izzy streams the event live.

On the tape is Arthur speaking to Williams' father, threatening Arthur if he doesn't tell him who the executive was who talked about the cadmium. It turns out it wasn't an executive; it was a young Grant Williams.

Grant threatens to keep the tape tied up in court so that it never gets heard but doesn't realize that Izzy has been live-streaming everything from her phone.

Trip arrests Grant. Richie apologizes to Sam because he spent years in jail because of him. Sam tells Richie he was just a kid and has nothing to apologize for.

After Grant's arrest, Junior Johnson can void the contract he signed with Grant, get his farm back, and have Strata Tech clean the property so that it's safe.

Hundreds of people join Bridget's class-action suit against Strata Tech. They think Strata will settle by the end of the year.

Hilde says The Magic Hour Chronicles won't be publishing more stories about Richie Fife but that she wouldn't be the reporter she is today without him. Hilde considers putting in for an internship with The Washington Gazette.

She, Spoon, and Donny hear over the police scanner that there's a possible homicide on the pier. They rush to the scene, but just as Frank makes them leave, Hilde spots her missing notebook near the body and wonders who stole it and how it got there.
