Law & Order: SVU Season 22 Episode 3 revolves around a bunch of college students stuck together during the pandemic.

The Italian police are in touch with Benson, who can speak Italian with them. An Italian woman who was going to college in the US has disappeared. Benson agrees to take the case.

Benson talks to the girl's roommates, who say she just disappeared all of a sudden and that she wasn't happy because they were partiers and she wasn't. But the cops search her room and discover bloodstains. Further analysis leads them to a warehouse, where they find Maria's body in a freezer. According to the ME, she was alive when placed inside and had semen in her. This is a homicide, but Benson says homicide is backed up and will let SVU take the case.

The investigation leads SVU to discover that one of Maria's roommates, Lexi, disregarded COVID protocols all the time and took a guy home from a bar the night of Maria's death.

The news goes crazy slut-shaming Lexi before the case is even finished, especially after it turns out that Lexi, her hookup, and Maria had a drug-fueled threesome.
