Law & Order: SVU Season 23 Episode 20 revolves around a strange case involving a missing teenager.

When a little boy reports at school that his big sister has been missing for a week, the parents say the girl is at home with the flu. The teacher calls in SVU and it turns out the girl, Beth, has gone upstate on a mission trip with a guy from church named Luke. There is no way to get in touch with anyone at the mission.

SVU heads upstate and finds out that Luke and Beth never showed. The cops now consider this a kidnapping, and further investigation turns up the fact that Luke's real name is Nick Pearce and that he is a pedophile that had designs both on Beth and another girl two years ago.

Luke is arrested but Beth insists he did nothing wrong and that she came with him of her own free will. She will not get a rape kit or a pregnancy test and cannot be compelled to do so because she's 14.

The case seems impossible to prove, and at arraignment Luke's lawyer claims that the Lees were abusing Beth and that he was rescuing her. He has had affairs with both parents and threatens to have this come out if he is prosecuted.

Beth runs away and attempts to marry Luke, revealing that she is pregnant with "G-d's child" when Luke is re-arrested.
