Upon meeting her husband, Maria stayed by her husband for six years and slowly gained the love of her country. Once she got the respect of her people, Maria decided to make her move and got medication from her plastic surgeon which would kill her husband. She told her husband, while he was slowly passing on, that the reason she is killing him is because she doesn't agree with his policies and never understood why he always backed down from the United States. President Dalton and Elizabeth confront Maria about all of this during the peace talks, but she doesn't back down unless they apologize for accusing Russia of the cyber attack or give up thier spy. President Dalton decides to give up Dmitri who is quickly taken by the Russian soldiers. As President Dalton and Elizabeth are leaving, a soldier shoots at their limo seemingly blowing it up.
