On Switched at Birth Season 4 Episode 16, Bay tried to move on with her romantic life and go on a date with Travis's friend Garrett. Daphne warns Bay about Garrett being a player, but Bay is surprisingly alright with it because she's not ready to be in a committed relationship. Of course things don't go smoothly for Bay when she goes out to dinner with her date and her waiter turns out to be Tank. Tank, thankfully, has the sense to excuse himself and get another waiter to take their table, but Bay doesn't let him go so easily.

Bay catches up with Tank outside the restaurant and the two have a long needed discussion about everything that has happened to them. In the end, Tank and Bay apologize to each other, but it's clear Tank's life is changed forever and his depression is starting to get to him. Bay tries to get advice from Regina about what she can do to help it, but Regina tells her she needs to let it go and let Tank try to resume his life. Bay goes by the restaurant one last time with the intention to talk with Tank, but at the last minute she decides to let things go and has an impromptu date with Garrett.

Meanwhile, Daphne invites Mingo and his parents over to the Kennish household for grill night, but things take a turn for the worse when Mingo's father, Larry, turns out to be the same business manager who put John in the financial hardships he's currently dealing with. Mingo and Daphne realize the men don't like each other and they try to come up with something to get them to get along and decide a game of basketball is a good idea, but it quickly turns out to be an extremely bad idea. 

Larry and John begin to fight about the financial troubles, but it's quickly revealed John basically cheated and he deserves to take at least half of the blame. John doesn't want Larry or Mingo back inside his house, but Kathryn puts her foot down and tells John he needs to come to terms with the things he did and he has no right to keep Mingo away from Daphne.
