Recap

Beth's funeral is heartbreaking. As photos of her from birth onward flash on a screen, Jordan sweats profusely. He blames himself for her death and sees her in the coffin wearing the same pig mask that killed her. In his mind, all of our mourners are pigs.

Hannah is watching the three pigs robbery at the gym when a couple of cops walk in, and she freaks.

Kayla wants Colleen to give her back her cell phone because her entire life is on it, something Colleen finds pathetic.

Kayla takes to discipline like a slug to salt. She practically withers in its presence.

Eddie goes to his brother about Jordan following him, and he's told he's being paranoid. He's not, though.

Mitch hasn't heard from Sam, and Eddie knows something's wrong. How can something not be wrong when Eddie owes some thugs $20 grand?

Gabe's idiot roommate thinks they're in the clear because it was one big accident. They helped to kill a guy. No remorse.

Jordan has statistics on the rate of murders solved across the board and in NYC. They're not good. When he cracks about not being hungry, the guests after the funeral look at him like he's out of his mind.

But when Jordan tells Tim he followed the suspect to where he works and knows where he lives, even Tim is concerned.

Kayla tells her friends at school about her phone and working at Colleen's costume shop after work. The horror!

Hannah wants to know who moved Dan Simmons' body and why. She decides to turn on the burner phone. She calls the number that has been calling the phone. It's SAM!! Shit. The stories converge.

Hannah has Dan's key to a storage place. She's getting too far into the story and will probably get them killed. Except Hansel and Gretel has a happy ending, so they should come out of it alive.

Kayla catches up with Nick on the street. He's still not interested in speaking with her, but she had never talked with anyone about her mother like she talked with him.

Just like Ezra on Pretty Little Liars, Nick is also a writer. Cliche a go go.

Kayla heads to Colleen's shop and likes it. She and Colleen have a good conversation and even touch on her grandpa. Colleen trusts Kayla alone in the store and returns her phone.

Tim grows increasingly concerned about Jordan, pressing him to leave the job to the police.

Kayla's strange friend comes into the shop and scares the shit out of her. Ethan doesn't like Laney. He likes Kayla but is a complete jerk. A menace.

Sam is super cruel and attacks the brothers when they suggest he's playing them. They're in trouble.

Jordan is going to have to huff and puff incredibly hard to blow Sam's house down.

Jordan calls the detective over and over and over again. He drinks himself silly, listening to Crazy by Patsy Cline. Patsy Cline is a nightmare when you're depressed. But he does get a shower again, which is always nice.

Hannah finds Dan's storage locker. Oh no.

In the locker Hannah finds a black bag filled with cash. She smiles as if it's the key to the kingdom. She's getting dumber.

At school, Laney, Kayla, and Ethan get into shit while Nick comes up to find another teacher already on the scene. It's spiraling.

When Gabe returns to Hannah's, she's acting cagey. She's taken the money. She thinks it's finally their turn, the world giving back to them.

Mama abandoned them, and papa died of cancer. They deserve it. Gabe wants to take it back himself, but she blocks his access. In an instance, he's the one with the smarts.

Over at Eddie's Jordan is trying his door, looking around it for a key. He even finds one and enters.

He's poking around when Eddie rides up on his bike. Once inside, Eddie removes a gun from his pants.

While taking a leak, Eddie hears movement in the house. He continues pissing and flushes while Jordan inexplicably continues his search. Jordan finds the pig's head.

Eddie swills some alcohol and takes a hit off of his bong as Jordan looks on from the other room.

Colleen hooks Kayla with some brushes and talk about depression in the '90s. She'd love to see what Kayla might come up with if she chose to paint her room.

After a text from Nick, Kayla almost sneaks out of the house. She thinks better of it and asks her grandmother to go out instead. They're beginning to trust each other.

Eddie has passed out on his couch. Eddie almost leaves, but picks up the gun, walks over to the couch and aims. Despite the look of pained determination on his face, his hand quivers, he backs up, replaces the gun and leaves.

Kayla visits Nick and explains what happened. She's surprised how angry he is at the situation. He explains that it's not in his DNA to do what happened, but even though he says it, he doesn't stop her when she steps forward and unzips his hoodie. He says it's wrong, but steps right into her trap.

I can't help but think Colleen has followed her.

Gabe heads back to Billy's place to find it ransacked. Billy is dead in the bathtub. It's hellish.

Gabe immediately calls Hannah, who stashes the money and gives Gabe a plan to run.

There is a knock at her door. A man in her apartment wielding a hammer wants the money. She directs him to a false location. For a reason that makes no sense whatsoever, he turns his back on her to look at the money. Just because she works at a gym, we're to believe she can overtake a thug and kill him.

Leaving bloody evidence everywhere, she leaves the scene.

Tell Me A Story Season 1 Episode 3 Quotes

I went in for a voice lineup. I identified one of the pigs.

Jordan

Kayla: I thought you wanted to be the cool grandma.
Colleen: I never said that! I'm OK with being uncool. In fact, I'm OK with being mean. I'm really good at it.
