As Danny lies on the bed, blood draining out of his body, Ariana lies beside him and begs him to wake up as he speaks drowsily and passes out.
She pushes him off the bed, and he falls to the ground.
Stan sees a doctor for some meds but refuses to refill his prescription, which he says ran out too quickly.
He receives a call from the judge. Rya is advised to return to class and leave Danny's case alone.
The judge gives Danny a week to recover before the court. Rya and Stan visit him, but they find Jack.
Jack takes over and locks Danny up.
Rya figures out how to make Danny accept that the abuse he suffered as a child was not his fault.
Rya reveals to Stan that she has quit her job at the university.
Stan calls a cocky Danny (Jack) to the stand.
Jack takes Stan in circles on the stand. Jack gives incomplete answers.
Stan asks him about Adam, and Jack claims Adam is his twin brother. Stan proves that Adam never existed.
When Stan brings up Adam, Danny's interest is piqued, and he tries to break out.
Stans continue this line of questioning. Jack struggles to answer the questions, and Danny attempts to break out.
He breaks out and goes to the flooded room. He finds Adam, who is just him.
All the alters disappear, and Danny takes control. Danny realizes he is Adam, and Adam was abused. Danny was abused but blamed it on Adam, thinking he wanted it.
Danny's testimony touches the court.
Danny is found not guilty because of insanity. He is taken to a psychiatric hospital.
Rya visits.
She says she quit university and went into private practice.
They talk about once when Candy visited. She complimented Danny's artwork.
Candy finally admitted Danny was abused by his biological father as a child, which was why Candy left him. She didn't want to believe Marlin did the same thing.
Rya leaves the psychiatric hospital. Danny waves goodbye and goes to paint.
