Recap

Ellie is still trying to help Joel. He needs an antibiotic and is worried that he might not pull through.

While out hunting, she comes across two men and manages to overpower them.

She sends one of them away to get antibiotics and keeps David where she wants him as leverage.

He tells her a man with a child killed some of their men.

Ellie acts like she doesn't know what's happening and in a flashback, we see that David's community is struggling with a lack of resources.

They're turning to eat people.

Ellie leaves and goes back to give Joel the antibiotics and finds herself questioning how she can move forward.

David and his men have arrived at the clearing but David says they should not kill the girl.

The men are less than impressed. Ellie sneaks out on the horse and tries to get rid of them but they shoot the horse and Ellie is knocked out and taken.

Joel awakens in the basement and can hear two of the men talking and hides out. He starts killing them and then uses his map trick to get help about where Ellie is.

Back at the compound, Ellie awakens and is told that she can be a part of the community, but she balks at the idea, realizing they're eating people.

She breaks David's finger and at that point it changes to them using her as food for the community.

Ellie fights back and says that she is infected and laughs as she tells them. She manages to escape into a cafe area and she's followed.

She sets it on fire and David tries to assault her but she manages to overpower and stab him. As she runs out, Joel has killed everyone else and Ellie is thankful to have Joel back.

Man: I don't mean to question your sense of mercy, David, but she's just another mouth to feed.
David: If we leave her out here, she'll die.
