On The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 11 while the garbage is being picked up, a frozen body is discovered amongst the trash. Laura and her team are on the case which leads them to a popular restaurant where they find out the victim, Peter, worked. He had put in a lot of hours at the restaurant yet he still wasn't getting the recognition that he deserved. The team at first suspects the arrogant chef of killing Peter, but they learn that while he was the one who found the body he was not the one that killed Peter.

While investigating Peter more they find out that he was part of sexaholics anonymous and he had various girlfriends including a woman named Selena. When Meredith and Billy interview her they learn Peter was seeing someone else and him and Selena weren't together during the time of his death.

As the team goes through the list of suspects they find out Peter was getting ready to buy his own apartment and it was furnished for the impending child. The team looks back at the people they have interviewed and discover the one person they didn't suspect, the chef's wife Carmen, is pregnant with Peter's child is the one who ultimately killed him.
