Summary
The Starter Wife is based on a novel by the same name.
It stars Debra Messing as a 41-year-old wife and mother of five-year-old daughter Jaden. She's immediately abandoned by her husband and forced to rebuild her life and assert herself within the film community, most of which ignores her after the split.
The show began as a mini-series and then was picked up as a show by USA after premiering to strong ratings.
