Recap

Caryl tells Liv she came to visit because she was worried about her. When Will comes home, Liv admits she told Caryl about Cara’s death, and Will tells her they need to put on a show so she will go home.

Rawlins and Wiseman question Garth about Cara’s gym habits and then show him the contents from her locker, including cash, an ID, and a housing listing, indicating she was preparing to leave.

Liv continues to tell Caryl that her marriage is okay and she needs to make an effort with Will. When Rawlins stops by unannounced, she takes her to a local shop, and Rawlins tells her Garth was arrested.

Liv tells Rawlins she thought Garth may have been possessive, and Rawlins shows her pictures from the surveillance video of her and Cara entering the gym.

Liv tells Will about Garth’s arrest, and he tells her that Cara turned down Garth’s proposal the night she was murdered. Liv wants him to tell the police, but he wants to stay out of it.

Will and Liv check Caryl into Will’s hotel before Liv shows her mom around the city, where she proceeds to complain about Liv’s father.

Rawlins and Wiseman show Garth video footage of them meeting with a couple who was at the hotel and saw an upset Cara that evening. They also tell him they know he broke his sobriety and raided the mini-bar that evening.

Caryl looks for Will at the hotel but runs into Bonnie instead. After asking about Will, Bonnie tells him Will wouldn’t have had time for an affair because he was always working.

Garth calls Liv from prison and asks her what Cara told her.

Liv sees Ash outside the apartment building and blows her off.

Caryl comes to the apartment for dinner but insists Liv and Will go out while she stays behind. At dinner, Will tells Liv he wants to have a baby. While at their apartment, Caryl snoops around and finds hidden polaroids in Will’s drawer.

Liv goes out late that evening to an internet café.

Rawlins asks Garth why he called Liv and tells him what she said about him being possessive. She also shows him the engagement ring he bought.

The next day, Caryl tells Liv about the polaroids and tells her she needs to get a divorce and come home. Liv tells Caryl she thinks she wants to get her back for outing her dad’s affair when she was a child.

Rawlins and Wiseman are forced to let Garth go after he fails to confess.

Caryl texts Liv while she’s with Ash on the rooftop about sending the pictures to the police. Later, Liv goes to Caryl and tells her she will go home with her.

At lunch, Liv gets the pictures from her mother, but when it’s time to leave in the cab, Liv backs out of leaving and tells her mother she was the one who killed Cara. Caryl then leaves for home.

While looking at the polaroids, Liv realizes they aren’t Cara. At dinner that night, Liv confronts Will with the pictures, and he admits it was his co-worker, Marissa. As the two argue, Garth shows up and soon pulls a gun on Liv, looking for answers.

A fight breaks out between Will and Garth, and Will is knocked unconscious. Garth then strangles Liv before she strikes him in the head repeatedly with the stone ornament her mother got her as a wedding gift.

Wilderness Season 1 Episode 5 Quotes

The way I see it, you and Ms. Parker were both in different relationships. You’re delusional, or you’re lying. And if you’re lying about this, what else are you lying about?

Rawlins [to Garth]

You know, the only thing worse than your endless groveling is my mother's ‘I told you so.’

Liv [to Will]
