Edge comes to the ring to kick off Smackdown. He says he's the face of the show and lays into Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and CM Punk for their loses at Judgment Day.

Out comes Teddy Long. He announces that Edge will take on Jeff Hardy in a rematch at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Here's Hardy now, as he asks the crowd want to see that match tonight.

In the end, Long says Jeff will take on Edge tonight - and the winner will choose the stipulation for their match at Extreme Rules.

- Charlie Haas, Shelton Benjamin, & Ricky Ortiz defeat Cryme Tyme & John Morrison; Morrison hits Starship Pain on Haas for the win.

- Michelle McCool w/ Alicia Fox defeats Gail Kim to become the number-one contender; McCool connects with a Styles Clash for the win.

- Rey Mysterio is interviewed backstage. He says that he’s moving on from Jericho to give some of the young guys a chance.

- CM Punk defeats Chris Jericho; Umaga comes out of the crowd and attacks CM Punk. He challenges Punk to a “Samoan Strap” match at Extreme Rules.

- Dolph Ziggler defeats R-Truth; After the match The Great Khali comes out and chases Dolph back into the ring, where Truth catches him with a spinning elbow.

- Jeff Hardy defeats Edge; Hard misses a pair Twist of Fates, but eventually hits a third for the via pinfall.

Todd Grisham asks Hardy what the stipulation at Extreme Rules will be and he says, of course: “Ladder Match.”
