Lauren Velez hails from Brooklyn. She has appeared on Ugly Betty and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
She has a twin sister and starred in a one woman show at the historic Colony Theatre in Miami during a break from Dexter filming. She plays Cuba's Victoria Guadalupe Yoli, the artistic renegade that was banished from Cuba and later became the lead singer in Tito Puente's band in New York City.
