Rachel Melvin

Rachel Melvin (born February 9, 1985 in Elmhurst, Illinois) graduated from Mountain Pointe High School in 2003 in Phoenix, Ariz., where she was raised for much of her life.

She landed her first acting job in the independent film, "Boo" and is best known for her role as Chelsea Benson on the Days of Our Lives since May 2005.

The character was introduced as Abigail Deveraux's (Ashley Benson) BFF. Chelsea was adopted by the Bensons as an infant and they raised her until their deaths in a car accident.

DNA evidence proved that Chelsea was in fact Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Billie Reed's (Julie Pinson) long-thought-stillborn daughter Georgia.

Months before she took over the role of Chelsea, Melvin appeared in five episodes as Georgia LaMarque, a French girl whom Bo and Billie had been falsely led to believe was their daughter.

She sings, and plays the electric violin. A children's book is currently being developed by Melvin. She is a supporter of the American Diabetes Association for children, as well as many animal charities.

Rachel Melvin currently lives in Los Angeles, California.

** UPDATE: Melvin was cast in Heroes on season four.
