Sam Trammell was born in New Orleans, so he fits right in as his most famous role as True Blood's Sam Merlotte, who owns a bar in Bon Temps, Louisiana.

The actor was nominated for a 2009 Scream Award for "Breakout Performance - Male" after True Blood's first season aired.

Trammell attended Brown University and the University of Paris. He has worked in theater, on-Broadway, off-Broadway, as well on the big screen and the small screen.

You may recognize him from the movies Childhood's End, Fear of Fiction, Autumn in New York, Followers, and Undermind.

Sam has also appeared in numerous TV shows such as Trinity, Going to California, Judging Amy, Bones, CSI: NY, Numb3rs, Dexter, Medium, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
