Riverdale Season 2 Promo: New Trailer Teases Hidden Motives And Mayhem
Justin Carreiro at .We're only one month away until Riverdale Season 2 airs! (The wait felt like an eternity.)
Mark your calendars, Riverdale fans. The new season will return to The CW on Wednesday, October 11 at 8 p.m. EST.
To tease its new dark and addictive mystery, Riverdale dropped the first official trailer for the new season...and it's all about motives.
I love an intense cliffhanger, and this promo keeps us guessing. The trailer picks up moments after the events of Riverdale Season 1 Episode 13.
Archie is panicking under the barrel of a gun and Fred is clinging to life on a stretcher. There's blood! There is life support! And there is a flawless hair flip by the queen herself, Cheryl Blossom!
Jughead returns as Riverdale's narrator once again. He teases the robbery at the diner may be due to a bigger motive than previously suspected.
Did someone plan the attack? Was the intended target Fred or Archie?
The romances are still going strong. And they're getting hot and heavy.
Archie and Veronica share a steamy make-out session in the shower, but it's the "Bughead" kiss in the rain that is bringing the replay. Especially since Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse are rumored to be dating in real life.
Shipping dreams can come true.
We also catch a few glimpses of scenes that are cruel to keep us guessing.
Why does Archie have a gun? Did Jughead join the Southside Serpents? Who's blood is that on the front seat? And is someone getting married?!
While Fred is clinging to life, the trailer does answer questions about two Riverdale parents. We see Archie's mother Mary has returned to town, and she's wearing a really fancy white dress. (Wedding, maybe?)
The other is the first footage of the mysterious Hiram Lodge, played by new series regular cast member Mark Consuelos.
What trouble will Mr. Lodge get up to in town?
