Carrie Underwood Album Continues to Break Records

at .

Wow.

That's our continued reaction at the sales pace of Carrie Underwood's album, Some Hearts. Here are some facts/quotes about it courtesy of Sony BMG:

- With [five millions units shipped], Some Hearts has now become the best-selling, single-disc country album by a solo female in the new millennium.

- Some Hearts is also the best-selling, single-disc country album by a solo artist (male or female) in the last six years - since Tim McGraw’s Greatest Hits, released in November of 2000.

- And with January 10 SoundScan information, Some Hearts earns the further distinction of becoming the best-selling, single-disc country album by any artist (solo, male, female, group, duo, etc.) since the Dixie Chicks’ Home, released in August of 2002.

It's impressive stuff. While Daughty is doing very well on the charts these days, no American Idol alum can come close to Underwood at the moment.
