On General Hospital, Sam is known for being unlucky in love. Maybe that's because she often chooses bad boys such as Sonny and Jason.

But even a romance with one of the town's finer citizens, Lucky, didn't work out too well. Why not? Kelly Monaco explains as much to Soap Opera Weekly.

Soap Opera Weekly: Were you surprised that so many viewers were really enjoying the Sam/Lucky coupling?
Kelly Monaco: I'm always surprised by the reaction to any relationship. You never know how the audience is going to take to it. The only gauge I have is from Super Soap Weekend. Fans seemed to be split. Half the people are Jason and Sam fans. Half are on the bandwagon to this pairing. So half of them hate one or the other [couple].

Weekly: Do you like the Sam/Lucky story?
Monaco: Sam and Lucky's romance was nice. It was sweet. It was friendly. It was innocent. I mean, gosh, Sam did do a lot of manipulating and crap [to land Lucky], but he was teaching her a lot.

Claudia: Oh, you're in a foul mood, huh? Looking for trouble?
Sonny: You know, I have not been fair to you. I know I called you a lying whore, and all that. But hey, you know what? At least you don't pretend to be anything else.

Lucky, it's called cleavage, and it's the best weapon we've got.
