Burning Fringe Questions, Answers from the Finale

at .

Wait...

... If the World Trade Center is still standing in William Bell’s alterna-universe, does that mean 9/11 never happened on that side of reality?

... And who the heck is Peter Bishop if that tombstone said he died in 1984?!

These rank among the top questions on the minds of Fringe fans, following last week's stunning season finale.

The Real Peter?

In a recent interview with TV Guide Magazine, Executive producer Jeff Pinkner tries to clear them up a bit.

He said the key to the Towers twist is splashed across the newspaper headline of The New York Post on Bell’s desk during Liv’s last-minute visit to the scientist’s office.

“The paper indicates that the Obamas are about to move into the ‘New White House,’” said Pinkner of the front-page photo of the First Family. “The implication? 9/11 did happen in the alt-universe... however, the Twin Towers were not hit, but the White House was.”

As for Josh Jackson’s characters? Pinkner promises that “the Peter we have seen all season [is] a real live boy.”

No way that statement is as simple as it sounds, though, is it? We can't wait for season two!

Fringe Quotes

Walter: It's a shame I don't have a lab. I'd like to examine him.
Peter: You do have a lab, Walter. Your lab at Harvard.
Walter: Yes. I do, don't I?

Just your average multi-national corporation specializing in secret bio research and defense contracting. Massive Dynamic. Seems like such an innocent name for a corporation, don't you think?
