It definitely looks like the CW has a hit on its hands with The Vampire Diaries.  The CW recently released a trio of clips from the show featuring the three principle cast members.

From what we've seen in the three clips, the show really seems to have a very dark, sexy theme to it.  In the first clip, we're introduced to her Elena and her backstory:

In the second clip, when the students discover that Vicky is bleeding from the neck, they immediately turn towards Stefan.  Follow the jump for the clip:

In the third clip, Damon harasses his brother Stefan and tries to convince him to go after human blood:
