Jake Pavelka to Play Reality TV Star on Drop Dead Diva

Jake Pavelka is basically a professional reality TV star at this point, having been on The Bachelorette, The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars. But now it's time for acting.

As a reality TV star on a dating show featured on the actual show Drop Dead Diva. Basically, Jake scored an acting gig in which he plays himself. Give it up for typecasting!

On the Lifetime comedy-drama, Pavelka will guest star as Toby Davlin, a suitor on Finding the One, a dating show within the actual show. This is going to be amazing stuff.

The plot line for bringing in Jake comes when the Finding the One producer is sued for “intentionally inflicting emotional harm” when Toby spurns one of the bachelorettes.

That last part never happened to Jake on The Bachelor, so he'll have to ad lib it.

Jake found the one, a drop dead diva named Vienna Girardi, while starring on The Bachelor. Now he'll be on a fake reality show called Finding the One on Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva.

He begins shooting his scenes on June 18; his episode, called “Good Grief,” is set to air August 22. “I am honored to be a part of Drop Dead Diva this season,” Pavelka says.

“When Jake came into the office to audition,” says creator and executive producer Josh Berman, “the whole production came to a stop. Everyone wanted to talk with him."

"He was so gracious and charming. He was spot-on and won the role in the room.”

Jake, a commercial pilot, may have quit his day job, but it still comes in handy.

“When we spoke with Jake about his shooting dates,” Berman says, “he told us that he would be coming from Texas and could be on the set by noon. Since he was a former [commercial] airline pilot, he still remembered the flying schedule!”

Drop Dead Diva's second season premiered June 6 and airs Sundays at 9 p.m.
