Colin Ford Cast on Under the Dome

CBS has cast the first lead role on Under the Dome.

A 13-episode series that will premiere on June 24, the drama is based on Stephen King's 2009 best-seller. It centers on a town that becomes mysteriously trapped beneath a giant, transparent barrier.

Ford, best known for his role as a young Sam on Supernatural, will portray Joe.

The character is described in casting notes as a "very smart kid" who gets understandably worried once the barrier shows up, largely because his parents are stuck outside of it.
