Yael Grobglas Cast as Lead in The Selection

The has made its selection - and Yael Grobglas has landed one of the most sought-after roles of the pilot season.
Deadline confirms that the Israeli actress will portray the lead in The Selection, a pilot being compared to The Hunger Games because it's set 300 years in the future and focuses on Grobglas' working class woman, who is chosen to compete against 25 other women to become her nation's next queen.
Last year, The CW also filmed a pilot for The Selection, with Aimee Teegarden (now cast in the network's Oxygen) in the lead role. It did not get picked up.
Two other Selection cast members from that pilot, Sean Patrick Thomas and Peta Sergeant, will be reprising their roles.
