A&E Orders Third Season of Longmire

A&E has ordered a third season of Longmire.

The network announced today that the drama will return in the spring of 2014 with 10 new episodes, having wrapped up a critically acclaimed second season on August 26.

It averaged 3.7 total viewers per episode.

Said David McKillop, General Manager and Executive Vice President of A&E, in a statement:

"Longmire has become one of the most compelling dramas on television with a devoted audience and we are so proud of the show. We are thrilled to continue our wonderful partnership with Warner Horizon Television, the production team, and the talented cast and crew led by the exceptional Robert Taylor.”

Based on the Walt Longmire novels by Craig Johnson, the series stars Robert Taylor as the sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming.
