LIfetime Casts 2nd Season Spell For Witches Of East End

The Witches Of East End will be stirring up witchcraft for another year.

Lifetime this afternoon announced a 13-episode second season renewal for the series, which bowed in October and has been performing solidly for the network.

The series, developed by Maggie Friedman, who based it on the Melissa de la Cruz novel of the same name, stars Julia Ormand, Madchen Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum, Eric Winter, Rachel Boston, Jason George and Virginia Madsen.

Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager said in a statement released today, "With its great story telling and amazing cast, Witches of East End is leading a full-blown witch renaissance...the show's perfect mix of premium execution with content that is in the zeitgeist is drawing new viewers to Lifetime and we're excited to be bringing it back for a second season."

According to the release, Witches Of East End is averaging 3.0 million Total Viewers, 1.7 million Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 viewers, and 1.3 million Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 viewers on a Live+7 basis through five weeks.

The first season finale airs Sunday, December 15th at 10pm on Lifetime.
