Nadia was absent from The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 6. And for good reason, really.

The character likely had a lot to ponder after revealing to Katherine the week before that she's her long-lost daughter.

Now that this shocking cat is out of the suspenseful bag, what can fans expect from the unexpected relatives moving forward?

"They have to get to know each other, right?" Olga Fonda told me over the phone about The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 7, which airs tonight on The CW.

And while the actress remained mum on what, exactly, this sort of mother/daughter bonding will entail, she did tease that both Nadia and Katherine will be hopping aboard an "emotional roller coaster" over the next few weeks.

"There's definitely a lot to look forward to," she said, pointing to Katherine's heartfelt speech about trying to find her child back in the 15th century and saying of that typically ice cold character:

"Everyone has some good and some bad in them. That was a major moment for Katherine and we'll be seeing more ahead."

Of course, Katherine isn't the only character closely involved these days with Nadia. What the heck is the deal with her fellow Traveler Gregor? And while we're at it… what the heck is the deal with Travelers overall?

"All we know right now is that Travelers can travel through other people," Fonda teased, adding of Gregor actually being inside poor Matt Donovan: "He's a danger to a lot of people. Expect him to cause some trouble there."

We don't really know Nadia herself that well, either, but Fonda says that will change as she grows closer to Katherine.

"A lot of children who grow up without birth parents feel like they've missed out on something, like they need to fill a gap. She has a lot of questions that she needs answered. She's spent 500 years looking for this person and hopefully she can find some peace within herself."
