Is it really such a stretch to imagine that Claire would fall in love with Jamie when she can literally swim inside of his eyes? When his first time out of the gate he's a fantastic lover?
Yet still Claire acts as though she needs convincing to wait for Jamie. "Promise me, Claire. Swear you'll be here when I get back!"
Who could resist that plea? Nobody, that's who and Claire knows it. It's not great romance if the woman doesn't act as if she's not all in, right?
