Mary is with child! Finally.

The pressure on royals to have children to produce an heir was tremendous, and even more for Mary with Lola's son so near and close to Francis' heart.

The title of the installment, "The Lamb and the Slaughter," as well as all of the talk of reckoning makes the joyful time seem ominous, as well as joyful.

With Francis declaring he has never been as happy in his entire life, it's difficult not to imagine his father's haunting won't play a part in what comes of Mary's pregnancy.
