Forever Midseason Report Card: Grade It!

at .  Updated at .

Forever has been a wild ride through the first 11 episodes of Season 1. The show has been improving pretty much every episode and has managed to create a wide array of characters that we have fallen in love with already.

It's normal for new shows to have a rocky first few episodes, before settling in and thrilling us each episode. The series can easily continue on with its current formula with little fatigue.

A Scandalous Murder - Forever

Warning: This report card contains major spoilers. We highly recommend you are up to date with the fall finale before reading any further.

Check out our report card and leave your grade below!

Best Episode: With so many episodes to choose from, Forever Season 1 Episode 11 is the front runner here. This episode would have worked as a season finale. I can only imagine the great things we will see in the season finale in May! It had the killer reveal we have all been waiting for. Henry's therapist is Adam! A lot of people didn't find this development all too shocking. I was too busy taking in the red herrings the writers threw at us during the hour. In many blink and you'll miss it moments, Lucas and Hanson were thrown out as potential suspects. The writing and directing of the episode was excellent. It was a true nail biter!

Worst Episode: Forever Season 1 Episode 10. I felt like the case of the week had been done to death in other shows. Previous episodes have kept me guessing up to the last minute, so when the writers hit us with the cheap developments that Colin had a secret identity and was really in cahoots with the wedding planner, I felt short changed. The show needs to stick to the original, character driven storylines that have been beautifully showcased to us in other episodes.

Honorable Mention: Judd Hirsch has been a marvel in the role of Abe. The actor brings a lot of different dynamics to the table. He brings most of the comedy to the show. The man always finds himself mixed up in the cases of the week. A lot of the time, his involvement seems plausible, but the few times they haven't been, they stuck out like a sore thumb. Going forward, don't have him involved the cases. He works better as Henry's confidante.

Jack the Ripper - Forever

Worst Character: Detective Hanson. This could be a case of the guy being underused, but he has the most horrible, random dialog I've witnessed in a drama in recent memory. It would be nice if writers further developed his character. They could possibly show us his home life, or even a member of his family. He just seems really one-dimensional at the moment.

Most WTF Moment: Adam's reveal was really well done. As much as the writers wanted it to be a shock a lot of people wanted it to be someone other than Burn Gorman. Let's face it, the guy is typecast at this stage. As I said earlier Adam could have easily been someone else on the show, but it's interesting to think about where this will go next. When the cab window rolled down and revealed the therapist, my jaw still crashed to the floor.

Hopes For 2015: A lot more of Adam. We need to find out why he has been around almost 2000 years. We also need to know if there is any way to cure Henry and make him mortal. I'd like to see more of the gang outside the office. Henry, Jo, Lucas, Joanna and Hanson should have some sort of work night out and let us know all of their deep, dark secrets! Forever has already cemented itself as one of the better offerings this fall, so hopefully it continues to be the entertaining rollercoaster we have watched so far.

Overall Grade: A-.

Forever Quotes

Henry. You can learn a lot from a body. How a life was lived. What was their pain. Suffering Life experiences. Even i they were loved. But what a body can't tell you is why and for those left behind that seems to be the only question that matters,

My name is Henry Morgan. My story is a long one. It might sound a bit implausible. Infact, you probably won't belive it but i'll tell you anyway because beyond all else I have lots, lots of time.
