TV Ratings Report: ABC Rises, Arrow Falls

ABC enjoyed a solid final full Wednesday of new programming prior to the holidays this week.

The Middle (8.1 million) increased by 16 percent in terms of total audience when compared to last week, while The Goldbergs shot up 12 percent and Modern Family and black-ish both by about 10 percent.

Nashville Season 3 Episode 10, meanwhile, drew the drama's second-largest audience of the season, while tying the season’s best rating among 18-49-year olds.

Elsewhere around the dial...

  • Mysteries of Laura returned to 8 million and a 1.2 rating, down 7 and 14 percent from its last new episode; whilel Law & Order: SVU (6.9 million/1.4) fell 13 and 22 percent and Chicago PD (6.6 million/1.4) dropped 10 and 12 percent.
  • On Fox, two hours worth of Hell's Kitchen rated about the same as last week.
  • Survivor was up on CBS, while Criminal Minds and Stalker each fell slightly.
  • Arrow Season 3 Episode 9 (3 million/1.9) dropped 23 and 29 percent from last week’s huge crossover numbers; and The 100 (1.7 million/0.6) held steady.
