Days of Our Lives Round Table: Meet Tate Black

at .

Brady and Theresa named their child, Chad had moments with Abigail and Melanie while Stefano tried to kill Marlena last week in Salem.

Our TV Fanatics Nick McHatton and Christine Orlando are joined by Missie76 and Fluffysmom from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate the baby's name, Hope and Aiden’s breakup, and Stefano’s flashbacks from last week’s Days of Our Lives.

Who has the better chemistry: Chad and Abigail or Chad and Melanie?

Nick: Chad and Abigail, Melanie's been way too much like her Daddy, and I can't handle anymore freaking Jonas'.

Missie76:  Chad and Abby definitely have more chemistry.

Fluffysmom:  I like Chad and Abigail's chemistry. I did like the scenes with Chad and Melanie though. Abigai/Chad/Melanie could be an interesting love triangle.

Christine:  I like Chad and Melanie. I think they have chemistry and are way more compatible than Chad and Abigail. Or maybe it’s just because Abigail annoys the heck out of me.

What are your thoughts on the name Tate Black?

Nick: I know soaps are pretty well known for choosing names that aren't necessarily mainstream, and Tate isn't really breaking that mold. It certainly isn't my first chose, but it could've been much worse.

Missie76: I thought they had much better options to choose from but after hearing Theresa tell how they came up with the name I am just glad they didn't name him Melvin.

Fluffysmom: I don't care for the name Tate Black. I get the reason for not choosing a family name but they could have picked something else. I like Donovan Black.

Christine:  There were so many great names to go with. I’ll give them points for going with something unique but it says everything when you have to compare it to Melvin to make it sound good.

Was Hope right to consider breaking up with Aiden permanently?

Nick: It felt pretty stale and contrived. Hope and Aiden have argued plenty of times before, so why is Clyde going to be the straw that Hope is thinking about in regards to breaking up permanently? It would've been much more believable to see Hope book it out of there numerous times before now.

Missie76: No it was a very irrational move on her part just because you different views doesn't mean you can't work it out.

Fluffysmom: I was surprised that Hope was considering breaking up over work conflicts. If they want a future together they need to find a way to deal with being on different sides of cases.

Christine:  Yeah, that really seemed silly, as though the show was looking for a way to cause drama. Hope is smarter than that. The only saving grace was that kiss Aiden placed on her before she could leave.

Stefano and Marlena flashbacks. Retro fun? Incredibly cheesy? Share your thoughts.

Nick: Cheesy, but retro...and fun! I really enjoyed them. By the way, I know Days is on the more realistic path now, but how awesome would it be to just watch the show have all hell break loose again with a possession storyline or a stalker storyline?

Missie76: Retro Fun for sure, it was nice too look back at all the craziness, they don't do it like that anymore.

Fluffysmom: I enjoyed the flashbacks. They were retro fun. This is the way to use flashbacks. I hope to see many more flashbacks as the 50th anniversary approaches.

Christine: Wow! I’d forgotten about some of those scenes. I remember watching them as a kid so in that way it was great fun…but some of them sure did look cheesy.

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Nick: Definitely Hope's sudden thinking of breaking up with Aiden. Way too much convenience storytelling happening there.

Missie76: I don't understand why they had to send Will to Poplar Bluff so Clyde's henchman could scare him out of writing a story he had already given up on but I guess it was a plot point to put more distance between Will and Sonny.

Fluffysmom: Nicole being stuck in this going nowhere story with Serena, Xander and Daniel. Most of the scenes seem to be going in circles week after week.

Christine: Cole planting the drugs on JJ seemed to go nowhere. What was the point? I was really hoping that Paige would somehow get caught with the drugs and turn everything upside down for Eve.

What was your favorite quote, scene or story from this week?

Nick: Sonny and Paul, their chemistry was fantastic this week, and thank you Ari for spilling your juice all over Paul's shirt.

Missie76: The Chad and Abby scenes. When Chad touched her cheek and told her she deserves better than him it was just so much emotion.

Fluffysmom: My favorite scene was Lucas and Kate at TBD. I like seeing Lucas taking charge of Countess W and refusing to forgive Kate's betrayal.

Christine:  I liked the conversation between Chad and Melanie. She relates to him in a way that Abigail can’t and doesn’t judge him the way Abby does. Maybe they’re just meant to be friends but I’d love to see something more develop between them.
