TV Ratings Report: Empire Improves!

For the first time this season, Empire inched up among 18-49-year olds this week, earning a 4.8 rating and drawing 12.2 million total viewers.

Prior to Empire Season 2 Episode 5, the smash hit had actually declined little by little each Wednesday.

  • Survivor (9 million/2.1) and Criminal Minds (8.3 million/1.6) each dropped a tenth, with the latter falling to a series low, while Code Black (7 million/1.2) held firm.
  • The Mysteries of Laura (6.6 million/1.1) ticked up a tenth, Law & Order: SVU (6.3 million/1.5) held steady and Chicago PD (6.2 million/1.4) decreased by a tenth.
  • Arrow Season 4 Episode 3 (2.4 million/0.9) ticked down just a bit, while Supernatural (1.6 million/0.6) fell by 16 and 25 percent, respectively.
  • The Middle (7.1 million/1.9) and Nashville (4.5 million/1.0) each dropped a tenth, Modern Family (7.7 million/2.7) and black-ish (5.8 million/1.8) held steady and The Goldbergs (6.5 million/2.1) increased by a tenth.
