HBO has renewed Game of Thrones for Season 7.
In related news, the sky is blue, fish like water and the Pope is Catholic.
While not exactly earth-shattering, the news comes just days before Game of Thrones Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on the cable network.
New episodes kick off this Sunday night, April 24, at 9 p.m.
It's been a foregone conclusion for years now that the beloved drama will likely wrap up after Season 8, with the only question being just how many episodes will encompass Seasons 7 and 8.
HBO did not include that information in today's renewal confirmation.
Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming, also announced today that Veep and Silicon Valley (both of which also return on April 24) have been renewed for 2017.
