Days of Our Lives Round Table: Merry Christmas Edition!

at .

It was Christmas in Salem as ornaments were hung, presents were shared and Chad finally learned that his wife had returned from the dead!

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Kpatch from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to choose their favorite ornament, decide if Chad should forgive Abigail, and debate whether Nicole will know she has a daughter for Christmas this year.

Which Horton Christmas ornament is your favorite?

Kpatch: I really don’t have one. I like that they are all unique.

Jack: I always look for JJ's ornament since he's my favorite character, and am always thrilled to see Tom, Alice, and Jack Sr's ornaments. I also think Ciara's ornament with its block letters is cute.

Christine: Seeing Tom and Alice’s ornaments, as they started it all, always makes me smile. I also like the history of the tree: Maggie put up Mickey’s ornament, we saw Jessica and Nick’s ornaments, and they made a point of showing David and Scotty Banning’s this year.

Should Chad forgive Abigail for letting him think she was dead?

Kpatch: Yes, Chad should eventually forgive her, but first I want him to blast her for running off and pretending she’s dead and everything she put him through.

Jack: I think Chad and Abigail both need some sessions with a therapist. Chad needs to understand that among other things, Abigail's mental illness is driving this behavior. If he sees Abby making a good faith effort to get better he should forgive her.

Christine: Yes, they could both use therapy, and NOT with Laura! Doctors aren’t suppose to treat family members for a reason. I think Chad will eventually forgive her as her decisions were made due to her mental illness, but I think it’s going to be a long time before he can trust her, if he ever can.

How long do you think it will be before Nicole finds out that Holly is her daughter?

Kpatch: I don’t think it will be long. It might be within the week. I hope Chloe tells her but I’m afraid it will come from Deimos and he’ll vilify Chloe.

Jack: I hope not too long but I wouldn't be surprised if the reveal is saved for February or May sweeps.

Christine: I’ll be so mad if she doesn’t find out very soon. Nicole lost two children and she deserves to be a mother to this little girl right from the beginning. Making her miss a minute of that is just plain wrong.

Who in Salem got the best gift this Christmas?

Kpatch: Well, Nicole got to hold her daughter for the first time, but she doesn’t know it. I liked Kayla’s harmonica. It was her gift to Steve, but she was determined to play it for him. The scenes felt like they blurred reality and TV and the actors were having fun with it.

Jack: Although he was heartbroken, Gabi freeing JJ from her immaturity and abusiveness was a wonderful gift. Of real gifts, I loved Kayla buying herself the harmonica to play for Steve.

Christine: I think Jade got the best gift, just by being included in the Brady family Christmas. I’m not a huge fan or her or Joey but I enjoy them more when they aren’t being selfish and annoying. I think Kayla and Steve making an effort to accept Jade will go a long way towards her acting more human.

Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?

Kpatch: Way too much focus on Jade. I’m not interested in her or in Joey or in their offspring. Also Deimos trying to play the hero, and the lack of concern for Chloe when the doctor said she’d had a stroke. How about notifying Chloe’s parents? But what disappointed me most was Chloe rejecting Philip yet again. It would have made more sense and been less disrespectful of Phloe fans to have her say she can’t make any big life decisions until after the baby is born.

Jack: Christmas should be a happy occasion, and it really wasn't this year. Too many depressed people and the traditions were really minimized. Dario and his sour attitude were not needed on Christmas either. Gabi and Lani are competing to see who can have the most obnoxious tone in their voice when addressing JJ, too.

Christine: Chloe rejecting Philip felt all wrong. Why can’t these two just sail off into the sunset together. Having Philip leave Salem dejected and heartbroken yet again really isn’t fair.

Kate and Adrienne - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline this week on Days of Our Lives?

Kpatch: I was glad Hope’s appeal was declined. I was afraid the show was going to justify Hope’s shooting of Stefano. My favorite scenes were Kate showing kindness and empathy for Adrienne.

Jack: I loved it when Lucas came to visit Adrienne in the hospital and was shocked that she appreciated Kate's presence. That was a genuinely funny exchange that lightened the mood of these serious scenes. I also liked Doug's speech and what little there was of the Christmas story and ornament hanging.

Christine: I love all of the traditions. The Horton Christmas tree and the telling of the Christmas story at the hospital, but the best of all was Paul in that elf outfit! Not only did he make me laugh, but he also made the most attractive elf I’ve seen in a long time. Let’s hope he gets to keep the costume for future use.
