Chloe decided to keep Holly from Nicole, Deimos pushed to elope, and Chad’s plan to share the Orwell chip blew up in his face on Days of Our Lives.
Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Fossie from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Chloe’s decision about the baby, Eric’s return, and more from the week in Salem.
Did Chloe make the right decision about keeping Holly away from Nicole and Deimos?
Jack: No, because Holly is not her baby, so it is not her decision to make. She's 100% right about Deimos and Nicole's blindness when it comes to him but she is leaving out the fact that Holly is not actually her child and that it's up to Nicole what measures to take to protect her.
Christine: I agree with Jack. It’s not Chloe’s decision to make. She’s a surrogate. Holly is Nicole’s child and it’s her responsibility to protect her. Also, I think that Nicole might view Deimos more harshly if she also expected him to be a father to her child.
Fossie: I agreed with everything Chloe said about Nicole being weak but Holly is her child. She’s stealing her child! Nothing about that is right.
Do you think Deimos wants to elope because he wants to make things easier on Nicole or he’s just trying to control the situation?
Jack: Deimos wants control. Like any abusive partner, he wants to isolate his victim so she can't leave.
Christine: It’s hard to say. Sometimes I think he really cares for Nicole and might think eloping would be easier, but he’s also a very controlling guy. I just think he’s desperate to get a ring on her finger so he’ll feel as though he won’t lose her.
Fossie: Deimos likes to have things his way and he wants to marry Nicole. It’s a control thing.
Who are you rooting for in the Orwell microchip story line?
Jack: For Jennifer to find out the truth and JJ to realize that Gabi is a hypocrite for getting on him for keeping family secrets. I don't care who ends up with the device, really.
Christine: I’m kind of hoping to see Gabi and Abigail work together, because that could be fun. Throw in Jennifer and her reporter skills and things could get interesting…but overall, I don’t really care who ends up with the chip.
Fossie: Chad. He tried to be reasonable but Dario and Sonny were having none of it. And the Dimeras were the ones who came up with the technology in the first place.
Are you happy Eric is back and what do you hope for his future?
Jack: I am surprised by how much I'm enjoying Eric. Getting rid of that judgmental streak he had has gone a long way towards making him likable again. I know a lot of fans want him with Nicole but I think it's too late for that. Let him find peace and happiness and maybe someone new eventually.
Christine: Judgmental Eric was a bore and I’m not sure how long brooding Eric will be interesting, but I really like the actor and I’m hoping he sticks around for a while. I’m one of those people who would like to see Nicole and Eric find their way back together and start over. Plus, Eric would be an amazing Dad to little Holly.
Fossie: I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Eric but I’m so happy he’s back. I’d also like to see him with Nicole, as long as he’s lost the judgmental, holier than thou streak he had in the past.
Was there anything that disappointed you this week in Salem?
Jack: Nicole being written as so weak and naive, Jennifer assuming that JJ's obviously non-consensual encounter was consensual, and JJ still being stuck on Gabi.
Christine: Sonny turning on Chad. Chad was trying to bring everyone together so they could all profit. I expect Dario to be greedy but I didn’t expect Sonny to get his ego in a snit. I was hoping for better from him.
Fossie: Austin coming off like such a jerk! Yes, Anna is eccentric and always has been but I still didn’t like the way he treated her. Then there was his crazy jealous streak about Rafe, a guy Carrie hasn’t seen in years. He was really overbearing and I hope they ship him back to Switzerland.
What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline from this week on Days of Our Lives?
Jack: I'm excited that Jennifer is getting back into the reporting business. I'm also excited that she and JJ both admitted they missed Jack rather than ignoring his absence like usual.
Christine: Abigail and Gabi sneaking around together was fun, and I hope we see more of them as friends. Also, Jennifer doing some work as a reporter. I miss that side of her.
Fossie: Eduardo calling JJ out on not only cheating on Gabi but Paige too. I know Jack (above) sees JJ and Lani as nonconsensual, but the show is playing it as drunken a hookup, so I couldn’t fault Eduardo for being ticked off.
