Days of Our Lives Round Table: Is Julie Salem's Wicked Witch?

at .

Abigail decided to leave her husband because of an inscription in an old high school yearbook, Jade told Claire to make a sex tape to get her songs more attention, and Julie faked a heart attack to get back at Gabi on Days of Our Lives.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Tony and Fluffysmom from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate Julie’s nonsense, Abigail’s strange logic, and the most disappointing storyline in Salem.

On a scale of 1(protective grandmother), 5 (annoying busybody), to 10 (horrible witch), how would you rate Julie?

Fluffysmom: I’m giving Julie a 9 for faking a heart attack to try to keep Eli away from Gabi. What if Doug had suffered an actual medical emergency when he received the call about Julie?

Jack: About a 7. Julie is way too much in other people's business, yet I can't help agreeing with her much of the time. But she needs to cut it out!

Tony: 5, Julie can be annoying at times, but I think she's mostly harmless. At least she normally has Doug to balance her out.

Christine: At least an 8. Faking a heart attack is so wrong! She scared her family and friends, and wasted a doctor and hospital’s time, not to mention money, just to make Gabi look bad. It was mean, childish, and horribly manipulative.

Abigail Walks Out - Days of Our Lives

Is there any merit in Abigail’s logic for leaving Chad?

Fluffysmom: Making a decision to leave her husband based on an old high school yearbook comment is ridiculous. Abby shouldn't have pushed for the vow renewal and then backed out in the middle of it.

Abigail set all of this in motion when she chose to fake her death and then hide from Chad for months.

Jack: If it hadn't started over that stupid yearbook and had been written as Abby realizing she married Chad because others wanted her to and didn't know who she was, there would be. As is, this is just another random plot point.

Tony: Not at all. It's all based around stuff that happened when they were in high school. That was a while ago, now.

Christine: It’s so dumb. It’s like she decided over night that her marriage should end, even after Chad forgave her for faking her own death.

Yes, they have issues, who wouldn’t after all that, but going to couples counseling makes a lot more sense than suddenly taking their toddler and leaving.

Trying To Talk Sense - Days of Our Lives

Who gives the best advice in Salem?

Fluffysmom: Kayla and Adrienne give the best advice. They will give you an honest opinion.

Jack: Salem has been missing a good advice giver since Daniel died, but Eric's advice wasn't bad.

Tony: Usually Maggie. She seems to be the only one to give truly good advice lately. If we're talking of all time, Tony gave good advice to E.J. for a while. But the all time best is Alice Horton.

Christine: Sonny’s advice was pretty good this week. Maggie’s advice is usually pretty sound, but I agree with Tony, no one will ever replace Alice Horton.

Kayla Confronts Jade - Days of Our Lives

Should Tripp take the Vitale inheritance?

Fluffysmom: Tripp shouldn't take the money. One day the Vitale family will expect him to do their bidding if he takes the money. However I don't expect a 21 year old with no job and no money to turn it down.

Jack: I fear there will be strings attached, plus he may spend it all on alcohol considering his recent behavior, so no.

Tony: I can see why he would, but I don't think he should. As far as we know, that's blood money. Though, he wouldn't be the first in Salem to accept blood money.

Christine: If it’s truly his inheritance, then I suppose it’s his, no matter how the Vitale’s made it. Much like Chad and the Dimera money, Tripp can choose to use it for good or evil.

Do you think that Claire will make a sex tape to get attention?

Fluffysmom: I think Claire will strongly consider it and sadly probably go through with it. I feel bad for Theo. He deserves better than Claire or Ciara.

Jack: Good Lord, I hope not! The perverted Nicole/Scooter story was bad enough.

Tony: Sadly, yes. As written, she will do literally anything for attention.

Christine: It wouldn’t surprise me if she did, which is sad. And if the show could use this storyline to highlight the mixed messages we give young women and teenage girls, it could be interesting, but I doubt it will play out that way.

Is Scooter Gone? - Days of Our Lives

What was the most disappointing thing that happened in Salem this week?

Fluffysmom: The ridiculous way the Scooter and Hillary story wrapped up. I am happy that they are hopefully gone for good.

Jack: That whole Nicole/Scooter mess and that Jade is taking up so much time on our screens.

Tony: The Scooter/Hilary/Nicole/Brady ridiculousness. It was just a really lame story.

Christine: It’s unanimous. The Scooter/Nicole saga was absolutely horrible from the beginning, but how they ended it was a new low.

We’re basically supposed to give Scooter a pass for attempting to rape Nicole because he and Hillary had lost their spark! WTF?!?

John Black Returns - Days of Our Lives

What was your favorite quote, scene or storyline from the week on Days of Our Lives?

Fluffysmom: John's return was a highlight for me. I also liked Kayla calling out Jade's tricks and her scenes with Tripp.

Jack: I loved Abby telling Jen to let her do things for herself. It's long overdue.

Tony: I have two: Kayla finding out what Jade's been up to/Joey kicking Jade out. And the all too short-lived reunion of John and Marlena. It was great to see Drake Hogestyn back! Just sad that it was so short!

Christine: Kayla. I liked the way she handled both Jade and Tripp. She was direct and honest, but kind.

I also kind of liked how Roman handled Tripp, mostly because it made sense that a retired cop would see a drunk kid’s punch coming from a mile away.
