Britt Robertson Joins Shondaland Series 'For the People'

at .

Earlier this year, one of the series ABC picked up was a Shondaland project titled For the People.

After the pilot, it went into recasting and lost star Britne Oldford.

In her place will now be Girlboss star, Britt Robertson. She also starred on The Secret Circle and Life Unexpected.

The project is written by Paul William Davies and follows a new group of lawyers as they work cases on both sides of the aisle, the defense and the prosecution, in the Southern District of the New York Federal Court, also called "The Mother Court."

While handling the most high profile and high stakes cases of the land, you can also expect more.

Why? Because it's not just America, it's Shondaland!!

So you can expect, as you would with any Shondaland production, for the personal lives of the lawyers to intertwine and intersect.

According to Deadline, who first broke the news of the recasting, Robertson will play Sandra, a sensible, fiercely intelligent and independent new public defender who was driven to the law because of an injustice perpetrated on her family when she was a child.

She sounds like a fighter, and those are roles at which Robertson excels.

Other stars on the series include Lyndon Smith and Ben Rappaport.

Not every Shondaland series has been a winner, as we've seen with Still Star-Crossed this summer.

It's hard to imagine where For The People will fall into the rankings, but we don't even know when it will be on the schedule.

ABC's 2017 fall schedule has already been announced and For The People isn't on it.

To be perfectly honest, until this recasting notice, I'd forgotten it had even been picked up for series.

That means so far there is nothing about it that stands out and is pulling me in as a viewer.

What about you?

Does the addition of Britt Robertson to the cast of For The People make this one you'll await with anticipation?

Or will For The People be one that just may or may not creep up on you, depending upon the trailer when the time comes?

Hit us with your thoughts on this legal sudser from the Shondaland scribes.

ABC Quotes

Aren’t we judged by how we treat people? I don’t mean as doctors. I mean as people. Especially those who don’t have the same advantages that we have. We hire Shaun and we give hope to those people with limitations that those limitations are not what they think they are. That they do have a shot! We hire Shaun and we make this hospital better for it. We hire Shaun and we are better people for it.

Why were you rude to me when we first met then nicer to me the second time we met and now you want to be my friend? Which time was it that you were pretending?
