Joseph Morgan will appear as Klaus Mikaelson for one more season on The Originals, but the star of the show may already have his next role in the can.
According to TV Line, Morgan has landed the male lead on the TV series adaptation of Gone Baby Gone.
Morgan will take on the role of Patrick Kenzie in the untitled series. Patrick and Angela Gennaro are private detectives who are determined to make sure they can bring people to justice for the crimes they commit.
It will be set in Dorchester, Boston, and yeah, it sure sounds like Patrick and Angela will have a whole lot of chemistry.
The pilot will be penned by Black Sails co-creator Robert Levine.
The 2007 movie adaptation of the wildly successful novel starred Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan as the two lead characters.
Despite the movie racking up a string of awards wins, it failed to garner much of a crowd at the box office.
Morgan has appeared on The Originals for almost five years as Klaus Mikaelson. The series wrapped filming in December.
The Originals Season 5 will consist of 13 episodes and will take to the future once again.
The Originals Season 4 concluded with the family being forced apart in the name of keeping young Hope Mikaelson safe from Inadu who was trying to destroy them all.
In the process, Elijah Mikaelson asked to have his memory wiped when he decided that he wanted a fresh start wherever he ended up.
The final episodes will focus on the family being thrust back together several years later, and there will be more evil for them to fight.
Will you watch Morgan in this new show if it goes to series?
