NCIS: New Orleans is losing a series regular.
According to Variety, Shalita Grant is exiting the series as Sonja Percy after four seasons in the role.
The actress was initially a recurring character during NCIS: New Orleans Season 1, but was promoted to series regular thereafter.
Per the report, Grant's departure was a mutual decision between herself and the producers.
Percy was recruited to the NCIS unit early in the show's run and subsequently became a fan-favorite character.
Her final episode is slated to air on April 3, but it's unclear whether Sonja will be killed off or if her job will take her elsewhere.
“It’s just time for a change,” said her manager, Didi Rea. “This is about moving on to the next great thing.”
Grant has an IMDB page that boasts hit series such as Bones, The Good Wife, and the original NCIS.
In addition to the small screen, has appeared in a string of Broadway productions.
It's unknown whether the actress will return to her Broadway roots, or continue to work in the world of television.
The news comes just under two years after the hit CBS drama lost Zoe McLellan as a series regular.
It's difficult losing much-loved characters, but will the show be able to survive this latest stunner?
NCIS: New Orleans Season 4 is currently averaging 9.1 million viewers and a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49.
These figures represent a decline of 15 percent year-to-year for the series.
