JJ paid the price of Theresa winning custody of Tate, Abigail considered ending her pregnancy, while Chad wasn’t willing to let Sonny have his job back quite so fast this week in Salem.

Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori and Christine Orlando are joined by Kierstin from MyHourglass a Days of Our Lives fan forum to debate JJ’s false confession, if Abigail had the abortion, and which storylines are dragging on too long on Days of Our Lives.

Theresa has left Salem once again. Rate her return from 1 (hated it) to 10 (loved it) and would you like to see her back again soon?

Kierstin: I rate Theresa's return a 7. I enjoyed her scenes. I liked her chemistry with J.J. I would have liked a Theresa and Brady reunion. I would have loved an Anne and Theresa reunion. I would like to see Theresa back again soon.

Jack: I’m gonna give it a 3. Her exit scenes were awesome and what we should have got when she left the first time, but her entire story was ridiculous and served no purpose except to trash her character, and now we're stuck with this idiotic story about JJ confessing to possessing drugs that aren't his.

Christine: I give it a 5. I expected so much better. I loved all of her scenes with JJ and her final days were fantastic, but everything else was abysmal. I wanted to see her get back to her fashion design aspirations and reconnect with Tate.

Instead, we had her scheming to win back Brady and bickering with Eve. It was a sad way for a strong character to spend most of her return.

Do you think Abigail had the abortion? How do you hope this story plays out?

Kierstin: I don't think Abigail had the abortion. This storyline seems to be a repeat of the Ben paternity storyline. It has been annoying so far. I hope it plays out like the first time though.

Jack: I doubt it. DAYS usual formula is to have the woman consider abortion then change her mind and I don't expect this to be any different.

I wish this story would result in Abigail realizing Stefan raped her and put an end to her being judged harshly for "cheating" that wasn't cheating, but that's as much a pipe dream as is Stefan being arrested for harassing her at an abortion clinic.

I guess the best I can hope for is Gabi's lies being unmasked quickly and Gabi and Stefan both getting mental health treatment since they're both totally out of touch with reality.

Christine: Yup, as Jack says above, Days has a pattern and I doubt that will change here. I’d find it interesting and dramatic if she did have the abortion and then found out what Gabi had done, instead of us having to watch the ickiness of her rapist actively trying to be the father of her child.

JJ may have trashed his new career for Theresa? Was it the right thing to do?

Kierstin: It was the right thing to do because I believe J.J. did it partly due to Lani losing her baby and he could at least do something for Theresa so she could keep Tate.

Jack: I don't know which is stupider, JJ making this move or anyone in Salem believing he's using drugs despite a ton of evidence to the contrary. This whole thing is silly and the fact that Theresa left town two days after JJ sacrificed everything for her makes it pointless.

Christine: Like JJ said himself, it was impulsive and he didn’t think it through, but he did it so a child could be with his mother. It wasn’t smart, but I give him credit for good intentions. Unfortunately, the consequences could ruin his career and his future.

Was Sonny jumping the gun by wanting to be reinstated at Titan?

Kierstin: Yes. Sonny should have let things settle down a bit first.

Jack: Yes and no. The agreement was that Chad would step down once Sonny was exonerated. There's no more lawsuit so it's reasonable for Sonny to expect that Chad will step aside now.

But I think the fact that he killed Leo and secrets always come out is a problem and in any case he needs approval from the board to be reinstated and can't assume it'll be automatic.

Christine: I hate that Sonny seems so naive. He wasn’t exonerated, but the judge did declare a mistrial. If Leo turned up the charges could easily be reinstated; Sonny’s assuming they won’t because he believes Leo’s dead.

But thinking that Chad’s just going to immediately step aside, or that Victor and the board will instantly reinstate him was presumptuous and arrogant. I keep expecting more of Sonny and he keeps letting me down.

Lani and Eli have grown closer. Should they become a romantic couple?

Kierstin: Definitely. Lani & Eli have a lot of chemistry.

Jack: As long as they move out of Salem and do it off screen, sure. Otherwise no. Lani irritates me and this couple is putting me to sleep, even though I appreciate Eli keeping Lani away from JJ, which is worse.

Christine: Only if, as Jack says, they move out of Salem. I’ve never liked Lani. I used to like Eli but this storyline has pulled him down to Lani’s level of boredom. All of this baby drama was emotional, but I still can’t say that I care.

Which storyline do you feel is dragging on the longest?

Kierstin: Steve's vision storyline is dragging on the longest.

Jack: This awful Stefan obsession with "Gabby." No one can talk him out of his belief that she's a real person who's in love with him and I'm tired of hearing him insist to anyone who will listen that he hasn't given up on getting her back to the surface of Abigail's psyche. I'm also tired of him trying to blackmail anyone and everyone.

Christine: As my top two have already been taken, how about Rafe and Hope interrogating Ben for the last two weeks over the fire in the cabin and insisting he did it without proof.

Ben is a mentally ill man with a criminal history. I have to believe that anything he says without an attorney present won’t be admissible in court.

And I’m so tired of listening to this conversation going round and round in circles without any resolution.

What was your favorite line, scene, or storyline from this week in Salem?

Kierstin: My favorite scene from this week in Salem was when Tate was messing up Brady's hair.

Jack: Theresa's goodbye scenes were tearjerker material for me and I especially liked her telling JJ he was one of the good guys. FINALLY someone acknowledges that instead of abusing him and calling it love. I also loved all the scenes surrounding Steve's surgery.

Christine: Yes, JJ and Theresa saying goodbye were some of the best scenes the show has done in a long time. And it says something about the actors that I felt more emotion over this than over Lani and Eli burying their child.
