Paul Dailly at .The Last Ship Season 5 finally has a premiere date!
The TNT drama's final season will bow on the cabler Sunday, September 9th at 9/8c.
“The world is finally recovering from the deadly virus that devastated the population, but global political unrest remains," the official synopsis reveals.
"Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) has retired and his former crew has scattered, many having risen in the ranks within the Navy. Sasha Cooper (Bridget Regan), Lieutenant Danny Green (Travis Van Winkle), SBS WO-N Wolf Taylor (Bren Foster) and Sergeant Azima Kandie (Jodie Turner Smith) are on a covert mission in Panama."
"When they are wrongly blamed for an attack on the Panamanian president, the consequences for the United States are dire. The Nathan James must fight to prevent invasion by Latin America — and the next world war.”
Season 5 was filmed back-to-back with The Last Ship Season 4, but TNT initially refuted claims that it was the final season, and stopped short of confirming a premiere date.
With 10 episodes remaining, the official teaser shows the character in some of their most difficult situations yet, and there's no telling how it will all pan out for the characters.
Despite the delay in announcing the premiere date, the series will have been off the air just over a year when it finally returns to unspool the final episodes.
