Scandal may be over, but its star, Kerry Washington looks to be leaving the world of broadcast TV behind in favor of the streaming world.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the in-demand actress has landed the lead role in Hulu drama, Old City Blues.
The potential series is set in the year 2048 and takes place in New Athens, a bustling city that was built from the ashes of Greece.
The city is corrupt, with criminals, smugglers, corrupt politicians and powerful corporations making their presence felt to the citizens of the city.
It focuses on the New Athens Special Police, whose staff are determined to keep the city safe following the murder of a tech company.
There's no news on which role Washington will be playing as of yet because the project is in early development, but she is said to be an executive producer on the series.
The news comes just months after it was revealed that she would be working on the streamer's Little Fires Everywhere.
She is attached to star and executive produce alongside Reese Witherspoon. The series is a limited series based on the novel of the same name by Celeste Ng.
Washington is coming off a seven-season stint as Olivia Pope on Scandal which concluded its final season earlier this year.
With the popularity of the series and the solid acting from Washington, it was widely expected that several producers would be trying to sign her up to appear on their shows.
Scandal was a popular series that was, at one time, appointment television. Lots of viewers watched live at one point because it featured some of the craziest twists on all of television.
